When you use a particular app for a very long time, you start thinking it is the best app that you have ever used. One of those apps for me was the Internet download manager(IDM). I never thought I'd switch to any other download manager until I needed an internet download manager for my mobile phone. I searched through the internet, and I realized the developers of the internet download manager(IDM) didn't make provisions for mobile phone users. I felt bad, but since other products were displayed as a result of my search, I went ahead to read their reviews. I was more concerned with the apps with higher ratings because I didn't want to waste unnecessary time on apps with lower ratings. They were many apps which got my attention. I found the UC browser among those apps. I have used the UC browser for quite some time, yet I didn't see it as a download manager, rather, I saw it as a browser. Another app which got some interesting reviews was the Download-Navi app. I became curious about the app because that was my first time seeing it. To satisfy my curiosity, I proceeded to download and install it. My curiosity was satisfied greatly, and I don't intend on leaving this app anytime soon.
In this review, I will be discussing the features which make the Download-Navi application outstanding among its contemporaries. Also, I will be sharing my opinion/experience so far with the application.
What is the Download-Navi application:
The Download-Navi application is an open source download manager which aims at managing your downloads in a more suitable way other than your default downloader. They are a lot of features you stand to gain while using the Download-Navi application. Like me, speed is the first thing I consider before using any downloader, and the Download-Navi application is excellent in its downloading speed. The Download-Navi application offers more control over your CPU and battery. There's an option to choose your user-agent, there's an option to download files only when your device is charging to name a few. The Download-Navi application was developed by Tachibana General Laboratories, and since its initial release on April 14, 2019, three different versions have been released making it four.
User-agent:
The user agent is a feature within the Download-Navi application that I will love to discuss. Please if you don't know what a user agent is, head to Google search, and get your self acquainted with the knowledge. The Download-Navi application has seven different user agents, and there are no restrictions to which user agent a user can choose. Using a user agent enables your information such as; your mobile device type/name, web browser name, operating system, to name a few to be shared with the website you're visiting. Like me, I didn't bother changing the default user agent since everything worked very fine. What I was concerned with was downloading my files.
Download session:
Starting a download session was one of the many things I did while using the Download-Navi application. In fact, it was the first thing I did after the application was successfully installed. To start a download session, I copied a download link from my iPhone’s browser, and I forwarded it to my Android device through WhatsApp messenger. Immediately I received it on my Android device, I copied it and headed straight to the Download-Navi application. When I opened the Download-Navi application, I clicked on the plus sign located at the bottom of the app, and a text field containing my link was displayed. I was amazed when I saw that the link that I had copied was already pasted for me. I clicked on the add tab, and my download started. When I was done, I tried another link, but this time it was a link from my Android phone’s browser. Immediately I copied the link I got a notification within my notification tray requesting permission to download the file. I authorized it, and the file was downloaded.
The download session feature is one of the many features I enjoy within the Download-Navi application. Being notify each time I copy a link enables me to download files without opening the Download-Navi application.
Multiple downloads:
The multiple download feature might sound trivial to most users, but I'm here to tell you that the multiple download feature within the Download-Navi application is different. In most downloading apps that I had used, the number of downloads permitted at a time is limited. The highest I had seen is six, and that was on the UC browser.
The Download-Navi application offers three downloads at a time as its default, but this number can be increased within its settings. I noticed that the Download-Navi application has a limit of ten digits, which means you can increase it to one billion downloads at a time. I don't think I'll ever need to increase it to its limits because I don't download many files. Currently, I am using the default settings because I believe having three files downloading at a time will improve the downloading speed compared to one billion files.
Power Management:
I leave in a city where electricity is a major problem. This problem has made me skeptical when it comes to power management. Within the power management feature, I found different options that are very helpful to me. There's an option to keep CPU awake, download only when charging, battery control, and control battery percentage. All these options can be adjusted with respect to your desires.
keep CPU awake:
Keeping my CPU awake when the Download-Navi application is running is something I will never do. Like I said earlier, I leave in a city where electricity is a major problem, so why will I keep my CPU awake when it is going to drain my battery life. Eventually, if I move to a better environment with steady electricity, maybe I'll try it.
For those who will love to use the keep CPU awake feature, the keep CPU awake feature is meant to keep your CPU awake while your file is downloading. It will surely help in a situation whereby your downloading speed is affected when your mobile screen turns off.
Download only when charging:
With the download only when charging feature, your download will only commence when your mobile device is charging.
The download only when charging feature is a very useful feature, but I only use it when I'm downloading large files. I see no reasons why I should use this feature if I'm downloading a file of five megabytes.
Battery control/control battery percentage:
Enabling the battery control feature is very good. Like me, most times when I'm downloading a file, I might forget it, especially at night. But with the battery control feature enabled, my device will automatically pause the download when my battery reaches the default battery percentage. There is an option to increase the default battery percentage from its default. Currently, I'm using thirty percent as my default because I can't risk my mobile device battery draining to fifteen percent.
Conclusion:
The Download-Navi application is one of those applications that is here to stay. I have used it, and throughout this period, I have had no reason to uninstall it. If I'm to rate the Download-Navi application on a scale of one to ten, my answer will be eight.

Hey Abasifreke,
Thank you for your contribution. The Navi app is indeed a cool app, considering some of the features you explained here.
I appreciate the information provided. The post details the uses, features, and your experiences with the app. However, the post had some issues. I will cite a few.
The above sentences contain a misplaced and an extraneous word. Readability could be improved by removing ''unnecessary'' and changing ''They'' to ''There''. Plus, you could remove ''There were'' and make the sentence more concise.
That should read as: ''For those who would''...
I would advise you to dedicate more time to proofread your texts.
Again, thanks! I hope to receive more contributions from you.
