This isn't an Utopian Task Request. I searched open source projects on GitHub that didn't have a logo, then I contacted the Project Owner and offered him a logo for the project as my open source contribution. After I showed some of my ideas, the Project Owner chose one of them and decided to using my logo on his project.

Details
Fanplayer is a project about portable video player that work based on ffmpeg for Windows and Android platform. Because it's an portable video player, it looks so simple and light. User can use it without any installation, especially on Windows Platform. Easy to read because this player core codes are written in C language. This video player also can smoothly playback many video files, with low cpu and memory usage (compared with ffplay of offical ffmpeg), high performance, compatibility and stability, and the audio/video also synchronized very well.
This logo design is trying to deliver player element as the main idea. Using 'F' initial element from 'fanplayer' and taking player element from play button icon, then combine it as unique as possible.
Rounded shape look so dominant in this logo design. For the typeface and 'f' logo shape, I chose rounded font like Nunito to make it corresponding.
Because this project didn't have any logo or brand identity color before. So, I chose two color palletes and combined them. I chose dark green and light green as the main color.
In other color versions, I chose blue and red color schemes, the most generic color schemes besides the black and white version. For the black and white version, I made no different color path, just only one color. In additional information, it looked no good when I make some space to showing the different color path like the following color versions.
Alternative Version
I proposed two logo designs for the project owner. So he had many option to choose which was better for him. This logo actually came from the same ideas but has different style.
Benefits / Improvements
This logo proposal help the Project Owner to improve the visual and identity of his project because this project didn't have any logo or brand identity before. Using this logo will make someone interest to download and using his multiplatform apps. This logo also simple, flat, colorful, and unique design.

There seems like there are things needs to be done still in the GitHub issue, project owner having trouble with images you provided. I didn't understand why you didn't provide .ico files instead you forwarded him to do it by himself.
For the design, there could be a better transition by modifying the "f" letter. Instead of directly putting it in front.

Oh I didn't check the dates, you made this logo 2 months ago but created the post just now? I've been looking to dates and couldn't see any recent changes so I thought it didn't included in the projects. I'm going to update the score related to this question.
