Auto update and external link behaviour on steem.rocks

Steem.rocks rocks with the activity display with style. It helps to distinctively show some activity details that may not be visible when working or browsing the steemit website. But this could be better as there are so many features that awaits its exploration to be better than the existing projects. It has a very bright future if it can implement some of these ideas.

Challenges

1.

When you open the steem.rocks website you note that you have to re load the web page as frequent as possible so that it can include recent activities, this can be tiring sometimes.

2.

When you click a link on steem.rocks especially an external link (steemit link) it opens on the current tab. This is not encouraging as this means discontinuation of so activity views on the steem.rocks website.

Proposed solution

Automatic update

I suggest that the developer of steem.rocks modifies the website in such a way that the website uodates some of the datas automatically without reloading the web page. Some of these data are: The steem power percentage bar, steem dorlar, upvotes, e.t.c.
When you visit steemnow.com, you will note that the steempower percentage bar, and upvotes updates themselves almost immediately when activities relating to these actions are performed.

Open new tab for external links

I suggest that when external links are clicked, e.g. steemit link, another tab should automatically open so that the external website can be view in another tab there by saving the previous steem.rock tab.

Benefits

  • Automatic updates keeps the user updated with the activity going on on his or her stesmit account in real rime.
  • Opening of external link on another tab keeps users on the steem.rock page, and it makes them not to loose sight of what they were doing before clicking the external link. So that even if it was by mistake that the external link was clicked, the previous steem.rocks page will be preserved.
