How does it work regarding photography?
I am making this question because here in Steemit the photographers tend not to be rewarded that much, like if going out, shooting and editing has no value or something... Just curious...

Unless you can make a link between open-source contributions for software and photography, I don't see how that would help you much. You would be better off trying something like steepshot.
