Introduction
I never believed I would review a game application. The first game app I reviewed was the Privacy Friendly Sudoku Game which is an irresistible Sudoku game. In today's review, I'll be discussing another game app (Privacy Friendly Memo Game) from the same unique SECUSO group.
What is the Memo Game about?
The memo game is a card game in which the player/players aims at finding matching pairs within the cards. The memo game can be played by one or two players. When the game is set to two players, the two players would have to take turns.
The memo game also has a difficulty setting which users can use to increase the difficulty of the game.
The memo game has a total of two releases and the latest version is version 1.0.2. You can download the app either on Google Play, F-Droid or by clicking Here.
How I got to know of the Memo Game
For the past 10 days, I've been surfing through the SECUSO group projects and I must admit that it's fun. It all started when I reviewed the Privacy Friendly Password Generator, since then, I've found it difficult to leave the SECUSO group's repository. I found the Memo Game on the group's GitHub repository while going through their awesome projects. There are many more unique projects from the group and I'll keep bringing them to you.😊
Features of the Memo Game
- Main Menu: The main menu is where the setup for a new game is being done. On the Main menu, the player can set the game for one or two players. There's are three starts which the player can use to set the games difficulty level. Directly below the difficulty setup is a button to start a new game. The new game is created based on what the player had selected before hitting the 'NEW GAME' button.
When I got to the main menu feature, I selected 'single player' and set the game difficulty to easy. I clicked on the 'START GAME' button and then, the game started. While playing the game, I noticed that there was a timer feature which automatically started counting when the game began. Not just that; I also noticed that the app keeps a record of how many trials I've made, and how many pairs I've found.
- High score: The high score feature is a necessary feature which gingers me to play better. The high score feature keeps records of the best gameplay. The high score is determined by the number of trails and the time taken to find all matching pairs.
The high score is shown differently for the three different levels (Easy, moderate, and hard). At the top right corner of the screen lies a button which users can use to resets all the high scores.
I love it when things become competitive. Whenever I Play a game and look at my high score, I end up challenging myself to break the record. When I got to the high score feature, I was challenged to find all matching pairs in a shorter period of time.
- Deck Choice: The deck choice feature is the specific feature that amazed me the most. On the deck choice feature, user's can select the TuX deck, animal deck or a custom deck. The TuX deck option shows the animated faces of men, the animal deck option shows the animated faces of animals, and the custom deck shows the customized deck.
The Custom deck cannot be selected until the user set images for the custom deck.
To set images for the custom deck, the user has to click on 'Define images for custom deck' and select a minimum of 32 images.
After the images are selected, the custom deck is created and can be used in the game.
I confirmed the functionality of the TuX deck and animal deck and was in awe when I discovered that I could customize my own deck. I clicked on the deck choice feature, and selected 'define images for custom deck'. I selected my preferred images and the custom deck was created. To confirm the functionality of the custom deck, I selected the custom deck as my deck choice and went back to the main menu (to start a new game).
When the new game was started, I clicked on all the decks and behold, they were the images I had selected earlier.
Comparing the Privacy Friendly Memo Game with Remembery
The Remembery game app is similar to the Privacy Friendly Memo Game, but then, I'll like to point out some of the features that make the Memo Game unique.
- Firstly, I dislike it when ads pop up on my screen.😢
The Remembery game app pops up ads on my screen. Not just that; these ads are also shown at the downside of the screen.
Looking at the user interface of the Memo Game app, you can see that there are no ads.😅
- Secondly, in the Memo Game app, I can create my own deck using my preferred images (you can see this in the Deck Choice feature). Meanwhile, on the Remembery game app, I can't do that.
Those are the two main reason why I prefer the Privacy Friendly Memo Game (the uniqueness!)😊
How to play the Memo Game
- Download and install the game app using any of the links I provided earlier.
- Launch the game app.
- Select the player option and set the difficulty level to your choice.
- Click on 'NEW GAME'
- Find all matching pairs as fast as you can, and avoid opening many wrong pairs for a higher score.
Conclusion
This is obviously an interesting game. There's no way you'll want to overlook it. I rate this game 4/5 stars. Why? Well, that's because there are some features which I think the app is missing. Don't worry about a thing cause I'll soon be suggesting those features to the developers.

Thank you for your contribution to another Secuso project.
I think I might help you improve the quality of your post with some tips.
This is a simple game, with fewer features. I think it would have been better if you had focused on sharing your experiences. It doesn’t have to be about the game only. You could include your experiences with a similar game you’ve played. You need not write about clicks and basic on-screen stuff.
Last, on style and grammar. This post would have benefited from another edit pass. There are faulty sentences in the post. I would advise you to continue to improve your writing.
Thanks!
