Components


Audacity is a open source multilingual audio editor software that is used to edit sound. This software can be used to perform a number of recording tasks and audio editing as making music, mixing stereo tracks, splitting audio, transferring tapes audio record to computer and more. In addition to recording audio from multiple sources, Audacity
available for Linux, WIndows, OS X and other OS, can be used for processing of all types of audio. Audacity does not export and import file AAC, WMA, AC3 or most other restricted file formats.

Proposal

I Suggest the Audacity app to add the effect "Flanger and Multitap Delay" with additional effects will greatly simplify the user in creating and editing music or sound recording, here are the functions of "Flanger and Multitap Delay" effects:

  • Flanger: Works to create the same effect with slight delay and signal staging at predetermined or random intervals or to mix the original sound with the resultant delay as to produce a sound impression of the wind. Flanger was originally achieved by sending an audio signal to two reel to reel tape recorders and then physically slowing down the reels. The resulting sound has a phase shifted, time delay effect, sound recordings of the 1960's and 70's.

  • Multitap Delay: Delay effect where the delay time can be subdivided into multiple, allowing for the creation of rhythmic delay effects. Multitap Delay creates the effect of a rhythm based on repeats at 160, 240, and 480 milliseconds. With the addition of feedback for multiple repeats, the rhythmic effect becomes even stronger.

Benefits

The Benefits of adding "Flanger and Multitap Delay" effect to Audacity app are that the effect will make Audacity have a more complete effect and the user will be more helpful with effects in creating and editing music or sound recording, here are the functions of the Flanger and Multitap Delay effects:

  • Flanger: Originally achieved by sending an audio signal two reel to reel tape recorders and physically slowing down the reels of one machine. The resulting sound has a phase shifted, time delay effect, characteristic of psychedelic recordings of the 1960's and 70's.

  • Multitap Delay: Delay effect where the delay time can be subdivided into multiple "taps" allowing for the creation of rhythmic delay effects. based on repeats at 160, 240, and 480 miiliseconds. With the addition of feedback for multiple repeats. At shorter delay times,** Multitap delay** can also be used to create textural sonic effects, as the delay taps begin to wash into one to another.

With the additional effect on this app makes the user can further explore ideas and creativity in editing music using Audacity apps.
