Introduction
Condenser is the social application web front-end to the Steem Blockchain. While several applications and web UI's have been developed to access the blockchain, Condenser is the most popular and principal gateway to the blockchain, being constantly improved, updated and used the bloggers.
Issue
Users are allowed to create accounts with a maximum of 16 characters in length. The UI indicates that the allowed characters are letters, digits and dashes. However, periods are also allowed by the system, and those aren't mentioned when users type illegal characters.
Solution
Update the code to include periods in the sign-up page. Condenser uses JSON for the locale files, so the variable account_name_should_have_only_letters_digits_or_dashes was updated accordingly. For example:
Account name should have only letters, digits, periods or dashes.English, French and Italian translations were also adjusted.
