This is very good start! I've just published my view on eSteem UI redesign but I'm not a professional and was glad to find this article. Will learn some stuff from here.

What applications have you used to create this? Do you know some more good articles where can I read about UI design?

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I will check out your design for sure.

I use Sketch for all my wireframes and designs. It's a really great piece of software that is well supported and has a community of developers that create plugins to help with certain functions.

When it comes to creating the UI I will use Adobe Illustrator for the most part as I find I get more control at the pixel level.

There are a few blogs I read that cover UI and UX.

  • InVision
  • Marvel
  • Google Design
  • Designer News - This is a forum where designers discuss the latest goings on in the community.
  • Medium - If you have a look at the design topics on Medium, there are plenty of articles on the subject.

I hope that helps!

Wow! Thank you so much for your detailed answer! I will try Sketch on the Macbook of my wife then. Because I am working on Surface Pro last 2 years and sold my Mac :) Thanks for the links, will check it out!

No problem at all. I'd be interested to hear how you get on with Sketch and I would suggest getting into using symbols. It's one of the most powerful features of Sketch and saves an unbelieveble amount of time.

If you check out the documentation you can see how they work, plus there are many articles on Medium by designers on how they use them most effectively. Definitely worth a few minutes of your time.
