Before going into the main topic, i would love to introduce you to the founder of the Utopian project @elear. @elear thought this through perfectly well by creating a community that rewards all that contributes to an open source project. If somehow you are looking for a hero, go get @elear because he is one.
This post is meant to introduce people to Utopian, how it works,how it can be beneficial to every individuals and the world at large.
Introduction
Utopian is an open source project launched on the steem blockchain which rewards people for contributing in an open source project.
The genesis of Utopian started with this very post by @elear, which he made as a contribution to the Utopian develelopment. he talked about how he got the idea, how he started and what he want Utopian to look like in the future
Utopian is the first of its kind that rewards all that contributes to an open source project. We have witnessed the growth rate of Utopian in the last 2 months since it was launched as so many people are contributing into different open source project. It is not going to be surprising that this project could become one of the top 10 biggest project in the future.
Open source project might be new to people who do not contribute to projects before. What is an Open source project ? Just as the name implies "open source", This is something that is made public and anyone can contribute to its development. What is open source project ? This refers to a program whose code is actively present to the public and can be modified by anyone. This is inform of collaborating with anyone e.g a fellow developer can access those codes and add some new features so as others. Do you know what open source project means now ?
Utopian for now accepts open source projects from github.com which means, which ever contribution you want to make on a particular project, It must be connected to github.
Who can contribute ?
You might be thinking that only software developers can contribute to open source project on Utopian. wait, you are wrong, actually, anyone can contribute. Even a newborn child can contribute to an open source project. why did i say that ? So that you don't think you can not participate even if you have no idea how to code

Suggestions are minor features/enhancements that you would like to have in an Open Source project.Suggesting a new feature/enhancements is something not difficult for anyone to do. for example; you can suggest that a new color background or a logo for an open source project. Everything starts with an idea, if you have a good idea to improve the quality of an open source project, you just need to share.
A Sub-Project is a set of new unseen features having a great impact on the project
This sub-project category allows contributors to share their idea on a new unseen feature in an open source project which may have a great and positive impact to its development in the future.This is will help the developers build/design something much more awesome
In this category you can only write if you have developed or contributed to the development.
This category is mainly for the developers who are helping out with with some line of codes in an open source project.
In this category you can only report bugs you have found in an Open Source project
They are many software around today which we use in almost all our devices ranging from smartphones, computers etc. At the course of using this apps if you found any bug, you can simply report it.
What is a bug ? A bug can be an error or faults found in a software program or application and can cause the software/app to misbehave or respond in an unexpected way.
This category is meant only for translations you have updated or created for an Open Source project.
This category is very interesting and simple. all you need to do here is translate an open source project from one language to another or correct errors in a translation. You might be using an application and find a particular word not translated well, you can simply suggest or change them.
This category is meant only for graphics/videos/motion graphics you have realised for an Open Source project.This category is very simple, useful and helpful for people who are professionals in graphics design. People who are good with graphic designing softwares like coreldraw, adobe illustration tool etc.
This category is meant only for providing a data analysis you have generated for an Open Source project.
Analysis or data analysis is the process of finding/researching,inspecting,testing,transforming data, with the mindset of achieving some useful information,suggesting something new.
This category is meant only for providing results of online social engagement, adv and similar for an Open Source project.
This category is meant only when working on the Official documentation of an Open Source project.
This category is meant only for providing tutorials about an Open Source project.
This category is meant only for providing video tutorials about an Open Source project.
This category is meant only for showing copywriting work you have completed for an Open Source project.
You can choose any of this categories to contribute to an open source project. You do not need to be an expert in all, you just need to find one which you can handle.
Note: Before contributing to any open source project in Utopian using any of the listed category, you need to read and understand the Utopian rules This is very important as your contribution will be reviewed by the utopian-moderators and once they find it to meet all the rules, only then will they approve
Utopian-Moderators
This are group of decision makers who reviews all contribution submitted to Utopian, and pass judgement to a contribution accordingly. They check that your contribution correspond with the utopian rules and that you used the right github repository. They are doing a very important work as they help reduce spam and irrelevant contribution to the community. It's more recommended and advisable that every contributors contributes fairly to a particular open source project.
What is github repository ?
Repository is a place where things are stored,kept or deposited. Github is an online based platform which is mostly used for computer coding and development therefore, Github repository is a place where computer codes are stored. For open source project, they is usually a link provided which anyone can use in gaining access to a project in github. When submitting a contribution to Utopian, you need to add the correct github repository link. This helps the moderators know which open source project you are submitting contribution for. Failure to do this, you are contributing on a blank project which may lead to the disapproval of your contribution.
Benefits of Utopian
They are currently countless of benefits one can get from this community i will be listing out very few from what i have experienced
There are so many more benefits of Utopian and the few listed above is what i have observed in the community. This is more like giving my testimony and views about the community
Conclusion
Utopian is the the first of its kind and it is really going to change the world adding more quality and value to open source project. In no time, Utopian may become one of the top 10 largest organization in the world that will drive open source project to achieve its dream.

From the time Utopian was launched (Approximately 2 months ago), it has received over two thousand plus (2000+) contributions. The people of the earth are very knowledgeable, with lots of ideological abundance, which when shared with one another, a better world will emerge
