What will I learn?
DNR GPS application is an open souce application that we can use to process the process of moving data from GPS to PC, in addition to many advantages again when using this application, on this occasion we will discuss all kinds that can be done by DNR GPS applications.
Requirements:
The DNR GPS application is very helpful for mapping work in field data processing, users can perform data processing with DNR GPs via Windows platform (32-bit and 64-bit)
Difficulty
- Medium
Tutorial Content:
- Performs a GPS data scanner
- perform corvert data vector gpx, kml, shp, text file, mapinfo file, gml and geo java sript
- setting up Project coordinate system
In this tutorial, I will explain How to Use DNR GPS mapping with great ease.
Step 1: Transforming the GPS data
Download DNR GPS software to run on Windows platforms (32-bit and 64-bit) at the following HIRE
Prepare the GPS to be transferred data, better use the original usb cable in accordance with the brand of GPS and connect with the PC, On the screen it appears that GPS is connected with DNR GPS application.
Perform moving GPS data by way of downloading data from the tool track, in the table below visible GPS data that has been successfully downloaded.
In the file tool choose save to and specify the extension data that is saved, specify the storage folder on the PC.
At this point we have successfully transferred GPS data to PC using DNR GPS Application.
- Step 2: perform corvert data vector
In mapping data we need many data extensions ranging from shp, gpx, kml and many other data extensions, DNR GPS capable of configuring various data such as gpx, kml, shp, text file, mapinfo file, gml and geo java sript.
This way we do not need to connect GPS to DNR GPS application, select data from PC's storage folder by selecting tool file then load file from directory penyimpana in PC.
Wait until all data successfully loaded from the storage drive, after all the data successfully loaded Ok click and all data is already taken in the middle table of the DRG GPS application, then select the tool file, save to and specify the file name and extension needed such as kml , shp, text file, mapinfo file, gml and geo java sript, then we can save the result data comfersi
we can do back and forth extensin data to get one extension data that we need.
Step 3: Set up the Project coordinate system
Working with our spatial data requires a clear location for every job we do, the Geographic coordinate system (World mercator / WGS84) and Universal Transverse Mercator coordinate system (UTM), the two most common coordinate systems used for mapping work.
We can set the project coordinate system in the DNR GPS application by selecting tool file and Project et, specify the system coordinate that will be in use, for more accurate location and position using UTM zone matching the location of the mapping project.
Selection of the right coordinate system will produce a spatial data that is qualified and referenced
