Social chat is a great messenger application on open source platform that allows users to chat and communicate with friends via E-mail. But i suggest adding QR code on the app would make it more easier for users of the app to add friends rather than e-mail address.
Proposal
I would suggest on one more feature for social chat developers. Adding of quick response code (QR codes) feature would hold information which can be accessed by scanning them. It would be another way of which users can used to add a friend, following an official account, linking to Web, entering a competition and more advanced actions through the app. Thus, i think to built-in QR Code scanner would play an important role for users of the app as it will allows them to scan any QR code.
Mockups / Examples
Users would easily add friends to the social chat without having to type email address of a friend.
The feature from another messenger
Benefits
The availability of this feature would allows users to scan using a smartphone or any other phone with scanning capability. It will facilitate each user in adding a friend by way of scanning QR code of his friend directly through the application without having to type one by one Id account of his friend in order become friends in the application.
