D-TUBE is short for decentralized tube. Its a web application built on the steem blockchain for uploading and managing internet videos. Like I discussed in my last article, it was created by @heimindanger in August, 2017.
Many people do not yet know how to use the platform so I will give you all a comprehensive tutorial on how to go about it here. First let's briefly discuss the ways its better than YOUtube.
1 ADS:
Many Youtube video-watchers complain about the ads interspersed with videos. Most times you have to wait 5-10secs or more before you start watching a video just to have them play ads.
2 CENSORSHIP:
A Youtube video producer will not be able to talk about sensitive topics like racism, religion, sexuality, pornography etc. However, these are all parts of humanity and must be talked about. The youtube adpocalypse that happened this year is a testimony to this.
3 NO/LOW EARNINGS:
Before you start earning on YOUtube, you must be upto 3-6months old, and get at least 10,000views. That means that a newbie is entirely relegated to the curse of low earning except he has endorsements.
4 CENTRALIZED:
That means that there's a central authority involved in its management.
FAST-FORWARD to D-TUBE and all those things have changed. Video upload and management is now decentralized, rid of ads, uncensored and providing an increased potential for more earnings.
SO HOW DO YOU UPLOAD VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE?
- Its simple and straight-forward. Once you already own an account on Steemit.com then you are already more than 50% ready to ride the waves of D-Tube and start making money.
Use the following processes to complete login and upload videos.

Is there a way to resume uploads like on Youtube? Just in case my computer crashes or the file is so large, that i can´t upload it on a single day.
Thank you for the information, but I get an error upload a video first.
Perfect D-Tube Tutorial for new member like me. For what stand "D" in D-Tube? Digital-Tube may be?
Hey @funny-videos, we the "D" stands for "Decentralized". Meaning no one person can censor people's content. Not even @heimindanger. Cheers!
Thank you @nairadaddy, you daily add value to this community. I was just thinking of how to upload videos on steemit this morning.

Wow. I did not know about this. I saw you post something about it the other day but was confused as hell.
I do have a Youtube channel. Would you advise someone to post their Youtube videos on there or is that plagiarism similar to how we cant duplicate blog content on Steemit?
No dear. You can transfer all your Youtube videos to this platform. Its much easier and you earn for it. But one useful tip: don't post only videos. Make sure you do a writeup to accompany your videos! That will increase acceptance on Steemit.
Cheers dear! I'm glad I could be of help.
Thankyou so much. I will join the platform and I look forward to connecting with you there.

I have edited it @shreyasgune. Thanks!
Hi, I am new to d-tube. I managed to get one video uploaded. But I'm struggling to upload my next video. The video is MP4 and it is 32 minutes long. I've followed the process exactly as described above and at the end I just get "ERROR Unkown Error". Can someone please help me? My snapshot is a .jpg file and my video is mp4. I have 1 video uploaded already and the first one uploaded fine. I'm stumped why I can't get the other one up. Can someone guide me?
