Suggesting to have a Different list of bot in utopian bot list.

in #utopian-io7 years ago (edited)

For A greater fairness in the usage and non usage of bots in a contribution post I suggesting this Idea of mine to make a better utopian bot.

For we know Utopian bot is a jealous bot. shes like your girl friend that will slap you with -2.5% penalty to -3.0% penalty for every bot you used in your post.

after studying utopian bot for a couple of days. I'd finally realize something that could be helpful to this problem.
After studying how curational works. and how the bot works. I discover more things.
We have a 4 types of bots. and I named them.

1st is the Vote selling Automatic bots

This kind of bots is selling votes for the exchange of your money and most of them is not caring about the post. its only care is the money you send to them in exchange for votes.
the user of this kind of bots must be penalized depends on how huge the votes he buys. not just -3.0% but how much the money he use to buy a vote its a kind of cheating since utopians add a rewards for the contributions that has more pending rewards.

2nd is the Automatic Curational trailing bots.

Most of them have a real identity, this bots is hunting a user that has a good post. and have a bracket pending of income $20 to $30 when this kind of pending payout is happen to that user everyday. the curational trailing bots will trail that user and voting it every 20 or 30mins of his/her post. to get a curational rewards.

And my suggestion is this. since the user not want the vote of that bots. and because maybe its not his intention. its very unfair to penalize that user same as the one who really use a bots.

For example is the image I showed above there you will see analisa is in the list of the bots. but you will not see that user receiving money for bots. that user only do is a curational trailing to those who have a high pending payouts. or a user with a nice and quality post content.

3rd the Manual seller bot.

This is actually a users that selling vote. they actually real people that selling votes for the exchange of money. I decide to call them a manual seller bot. seems they doing the same thing as the bot doing.
In My suggestion, the user of this kind of purchasing an upvote, It is like a congressman runneing for precedency and purchasing a votes of people. you see its actually cheating since its agains the utopian rules and must be penalized more.

4th is The minnow helper bots

The best example of this bots is minnowsupport, originalworks, droto, banjo etc. this kind of bots are different. specially minnowsupport they using too many bots accounts to support a minnow. if the user of this account penalized. it will be a total of -3.0% * 37 to 40 and that huge.
heres the list of minnowsupport bots most of them but not them all.
Capture_2017_11_08_12_58_05_496.png
as you can see they are so many.
Capture_2017_11_08_12_58_17_229.png
so I suggesting to have a list of bots.
utopian bot script for now have a 1 list of bots. and while its on improving and developing
I suggesting to add a different list for those bots and different penalty for the user of the said bots.

1st list is the list of Vote selling Automatic bots
2nd list is the list of Automatic Curational trailing bots.
3rd list is the list of the Manual seller bot.
4th list is the list of The minnow helper bots

and gives different penalty base on the list of bots that the user use.
and also I suggesting to, not penalized the user who receives a vote from Curational trailing bot.
because the user have no controll with that. if the curational trailing bots decide to add the user in their trail the user cannot do something about that. so I suggest that put the list of curational trailing bots to a list that not penalized instead put them to the list that not counting it as votes.

It's good post. But I have searched it myself to get to know the actual Rules on voting bots. Unfortunately I couldn't find any posts regarding the Bot policy, not even on rules.
Then how do you define this as cheating since there's no exact rule on it??
Its no problem for me to be following rules, but first shouldn't I get to know about the rules??
Or do I have to follow them because I read much rumors about it?
it would be helpful for me if you could send me a post link with such rules? Have @elear written anything about it?

thanks

Hello @katteasis the bot is open source. We are not going to tell every single detail about it simply because people will then try to trick to the bot to get more profits. Still if you have some tech know-how the code is open source and you can through it here https://github.com/utopian-io/api.utopian.io/blob/master/utopian-bot.js

Thanks @elear. I'm more clear about it now :)

Utopian.io/rules is actually a rule for contributions and not about the rule of utopian bot.

Thanks, it helps me. But still, I think it should have been highlighted somewhere. :)
