Components

The component that I want to suggest here is to add a feature that Logisim can interface with analog circuits.

Logisim is a software used to simulate logic circuits. With the function of simulating logic circuit, I think this software does good for me. But, I think that logisim must include a circuit simulation that includes analog circuits.

Here is the current library of logisim simulator.

From the system library picture, there is no folder for analog circuit component category.

Some circuit applications uses analog circuit and the same time uses digital or logic circuits.

Here are some example of circuit applications that uses analog and digital or logic circuit components.

Proposal

What I am proposing here is to add a feature that can interface with analog circuit. For this to happen, analog component must be included in logisim library.

Therefore, an addition category in logisim library is needed and this category includes the components that are usually interface with logic circuit.

Mockups / Examples

Here is an example on how the suggestion will work.

Logisim library will be added with analog devices category.

If we open the folder for analog devices, group of available analog devices will be displayed.

As the result, we can do simulation with this type of circuit(a combination of analog and digital or logic circuit.

Benefits

Here are the benefits if suggestion will be implemented:

  1. Allows users to interface analog circuits with digital or logic circuits.
  2. More components will be added to logisim library.
  3. Can simulate digital or logic circuit applications with analog circuits included.

Ohh, Ohh! I used this program to design a simple processor, which can add, substract, multiply and do bitwise shifts, based on Harvard Architecture. Shame that Logisim is not maintained anymore.

Yes.. I think there were no available updates for logisim and getting behind from other softwares
