RE: Not able to write GITHUB PROJECT REPOSTORY through UTOPIAN.io in Firefox Focus.

in #utopian-io7 years ago

This particular contribution cannot be accepted because I believe this an issue with Utopian rather than the browser. This particular issue is not uncommon across mobile browsers from my testing and was able to see a similar issue on Chrome.

By default, the return key within your mobile keyboard will take you through the form, this is a user experience feature similar to the tab on your PC. The problem is that particular behavior is not the same on desktop applications. I believe that in order to resolve this issue another method would need to be implemented for listening for return being pressed on mobile, or potentially a different type of selection or a button to search repositories. Regardless of the fix, I believe this would be placed within the Utopian application. To provide clarity, if the application hasn't been optimized to tell the browser that submit should occur on that field then when the return key is pressed then it cannot be at fault when it doesn't submit.

I would also like to point out that I believe this particular contribution would provide little value to the project owner as I think it would have been hard for the developer to test and I don't believe your contribution provides enough detail into what's actually going on in the application. It has many pre-requisites which aren't listed and has assumed that the project owner has a pre-exciting knowledge of Utopian. It would have been would have been better to test this particular issue in an environment outside of an application which requires registration, this could have done by finding other examples with similar behaviour of using return to submit.
