I. Purpose
• Students can familiarize themselves with the work area and the tools that will be used in Blender.
• Students can understand the creation of 3D objects by using Blender.
• Students can create 3D objects Desk and Chairs with tools in blender.
II. Basic theory
Modeling is to form objects or objects. Create and design the object so it looks like life. In accordance with the object and its base, this process is done entirely on the computer. Through concept and design process, the whole object can be shown in 3 dimension, so many call this result as 3-dimensional modeling (Nalwan, 1998). There are several aspects to consider when building an object model, all of which contribute to the quality of the end result. These include methods for obtaining or creating data that describe the object, the purpose of the model, the level of complexity, cost calculation, conformance and enviroment, and the ease of model manipulation. 3D modeling process requires design that is divided by several stages for its formation. Like what objects want to be formed as a basic object, 3D object modeling methods, lighting and animated object movements in accordance with the order of the process to be performed.
Blender is a software used in 3D modeling and animation. Blender is software licensed as open source. Blender was originally developed as a production tool in the internal environment of the animation company. Ton Roosendaal as the main developer of the Blender software has the Blender Institute which aims to always develop, document, support project training and maintain hosted blender.org service which is the official website of this software.
Why use Blender 3D software, because it has a license that is open to private and commercial use with appropriate General Public License (GNU). Blender can also be used on some OS like, Linux, Mac and Windows. We easily get the latest release version of Blender by directly visiting the website that is blender.org. And most importantly, Blender can run on a minimalist laptop with 512 RAM.
