The Chic-Chok

The most random way to make friends

Actually nothing to do with this chic-chok .

The Chic-Chok app will provide a new way for college students to make friends.

Who are the users?

This app can be used by any college students including Yonsei and Incheon University. Any students who want to make new, random friends during their college years can join.

What will this app do?

  1. By simply touch a button in the app, automatic matching system will find you a new friend in same college to have dinner with, along with a restaurant.
  2. The app will notify the user with the only info of the time when they will meet.
  3. User can either accept or decline the appointment within 30 minutes. (If user doesn't reply, the appointment is automatically declined) .
  4. After both user accepts the appointment, the app will show the user where and when to meet (restaurant), and certain gesture to recognize each other. (For example, making v finger up high consistantly. )
  5. If someone didn't showed up, the other person will submit a absense rating. If this absense rating accumulates to 2 times, this user cannot use this app forever.
  6. After successful dinner meeting, both user need to rate the other person. This rating will be shown to the other user at the appointment screen after the 1st meeting.

What Problem will this app solve?

1. User side

Typical college students tend to hang out with people they have strong connection with, such as 'same class', 'same major', 'same club'. In order to make new friends, students mostly use the certain event, so called 'Meeting', which depends hardly on 'bridge person' between two teams. By providing a easy way of meeting random person in same college, students can have large variety of friend pool and also, most importantly, it's fun. (and maybe discount from restarants)

2. Restarant side

Restaurants in songdo tend to change a lot because of relatively high montly bill. Restaurants who offer delivery have their way of advertising and attractin customers through the famous app called '배달의민족'. But the ones without delivery service rely on blog marketing and Naver. But students tend to use restarants they have heard of by the other students. These restaurants can enlarge their sales by advertising through Chic-Chok app. Users don't really have a choice of restarant in the process of meeting. With the purpose of 'random' and 'fun', students will accept the chosen restarant.

Design vision and emotional impact goals

This app gives user an experience of truly randomized meeting with fun aspect of awknowledging each other. They are not supposed to make any decision except confirming or declining predecided meeting time. The app makes all the hard decisions on behalf of the users(When to meet, what to eat, how to recognize each other). User can concentrate on the person right beside.
