Some vaccine hesitant parents worry about all the vaccines their children have to take in the vaccine schedule. But actually the total antigen amount of modern vaccines is lower than at any point in the past.

Furthermore, such concerns are actually quite misplaced to begin with. Children's immune systems can safely handle vaccination with multiple vaccines:

Delaying the vaccine schedule is risky as it leaves children exposed to pathogens that their age group often is particularly exposed to and vulnerable to. The vaccine schedule is specifically designed to protect children optimally.

Monkeypox

Monkeypox can affect anyone, but the exposure risk right now is highest in people who had multiple sexual partners in the last 2 weeks. In particular men who have sex with men. It isn't inherently a sexually transmitted infection, but close sustained contact like sexual activity does transmit it. People should avoid contact with the lesions.

Note for the second group you need to be in an area with known monkeypox cases given the limited vaccine supply.

Supplies of the vaccine (JYNNEOS) are currently limited, but will increase significantly over the coming weeks and months.

The monkeypox rash can look like pimples, but the lesions are generally very painful and itchy. They can occur anywhere on the body, but in this outbreak they've often been around the genital area. Some people will have systemic symptoms like fever and lethargy accompanying the rash.

The vaccine can prevent infection, but also can be taken up to two weeks after an infection to reduce disease severity.
