Love.

It sure takes a brief moment of pure contentment to fall for someone.
But even a whole lifetime will never be enough to forget someone.
The music of their laugh will constantly be on replay in your head.
The vision of their smile will always be what cheers you up yet brings you down.
The essence of them will linger everywhere you go.
The softness of their touch will always be a distant memory, that deep down you know you want to feel again.
Your thoughts are driving you crazy to the point where you wish could forget them completely. You hope the memories will fade. They don't. They get louder. Stronger. They constantly control you because you keep shutting them down. But maybe, just maybe, this is your heart saying you don't want to forget them at all. Your brain will try and try to convince you to forget but your heart speaks louder. You know you have to move on and think the only way to do that is by forgetting.
So I know, you try and force yourself to forget. But there is a difference between moving on and forgetting.
In actual act, they are completely unrelated. You cant move on by forcing yourself to forget. It’ll drive you more crazy. The only way to move on is by doing the opposite and giving yourself permission to remember.
You are allowed to remember how they made you feel. Smile.
How the world stopped when you were together.
How all your problems disappeared every time you spoke. You can remember the MAGIC.

At the end of the day, the only reason you remember that moment is because you were happy.
You weren’t happy because of who you were with.
They weren't the ones that made you happy in that moment.
You made you happy.
You made you happy because in that moment you gained a different perspective on life.
And you can do that again.
You can regain that perspective.
Just don't seek to forget those unforgettable feelings. Seek to recreate and evolve them. Besides, you already created them once within yourself.
Before you fall in love, learn to love yourself.
