Don't Be Vegan Be Human (Poem)

in #vegan6 years ago (edited)

One day the majority are going to be vegan,
Just like one day black people found freedom.
Something immoral can never last forever,
And nature will always find a way to beat it.

Through experiences which change perspective.
Or for the stubborn... Death!
Which returns peace back to the collective.
Change is inevitable, and this statement is not subjective.

So you must make a personal choice, weather you wish for this terror to be resolved.
But is it really a personal choice, when other lives are involved?
Every time we consume meat, we agree to this harm.
And more animals are killed as a result of our demand.

So if it is the demand which controls the these industries.
We united! Have the ability to let these animals live free;
And enjoy this game we call life in which we co-exist in,
And which our common desire. Is just, existing...

Why should one be able to decide who else can participate,
And introduce players, having already decided their fate.
In the process utilizing precious resources and food.
Which could be used to feed the starving and destitute.

A wise man once said.
"If one can live healthy without killing animals to survive.
And eats meat,
He participates in taking an animals life merely for his appetite."

And to do so is immoral.
But the problem is, as a society we do not feel sorrow.
Because we have victimized these animals to such a degree.
They are not even considered victims anymore. Just commodities.

Like TV's, phones and pay-checks.
We have turned these loving animals into inanimate objects.
Which we don't see as living beings anymore.
But, as children once used to adore.

Before we were socially conditioned to become desensitized,
To our feeling of love and compassion we once had for these innocent lives.
If we remove our ignorance, and view animals the same we do as humans.
The choice between eating meat and becoming vegan should no longer be confusing.

And for those who try to justify what we do by comparing us,
To how animals kill other animals simply just for food.
Ask yourself, do they breed and force impregnate?
Steal their babies when they're born, and milk them till they ache.

Do they have a plethora of food options to put on their plates?
No! Because they are not as developed as humans.
But that shouldn't make it right to eliminate,
And justify all the lives have ruined.

In fact, the less animals are bred and murdered, the more global warming will reduce.
But instead we learn in our classrooms, how god created animals for us to consume.
But wouldn't a loving creator design a source of energy that doesn't feel pain when being used as food?
Or maybe, there's another we forgot to include?

We need to change what is socially excepted in our society.
Like how only 100 years ago slavery used to be.
We should never base our ethics on what is legal.
But, listen to our hearts instead of the influence of evil.

The world is a dangerous place not because of those who do evil.
But because of those who look on and do nothing.
So do something, and make the world a bit more equal.
By making your next meal...

More peaceful. <3
