in #venezuela6 years ago

This is a rare post from me and I hope the title does not irritate Venezuelans because it is intended just to attract people to this post as post titles should always do. I read about the current situation in Venezuela and I felt so bad that I decided to come up with this post.

I guess we may have heard or watch reports about the food crisis in Venezuela. The food crisis is Venezuela is one of the major economic crisis from around the world but the latest crisis now in Venezuela is shortage of water. About 70% of the population in Caracas, the country’s capital does not have access to drinkable and usable water. Another worry that is prior to these water shortages is the rise of diseases such as diphtheria.

ACTIONS TAKEN

To counteract the fall of the Venezuelan economy, Nicolas Maduro, the president of Venezuela introduced the petro Cryptocurrency in 2017. This currency is backed by the country’s oil and mineral reserves. This was a brilliant idea that has seen the country’s monetary value being placed in terms of petro. This is because the native currency of Venezuela (Venezuelan bolívar) just keeps depreciating in value.

Now faced with these water crises and more, the president of Venezuela has again propose another Cryptocurrency called Petro gold which is allegedly backed by gold. The major purpose of this currency will be to further boost the Venezuelan economy. The exchange and market price of this Cryptocurrency will also be backed by the market prices of demand and supply like it is with many Cryptocurrencies. As of now, Petro gold is soon to hit the market.

About Petro

I was able to find a well detailed article about Petro. This article explains everything that one may need to know about this currency and also answers all possible questions that may arise with regards to Petro. So, If one would love to know more about petro and how to invest/support Venezuela with through this currency, this article will be helpful.

I hope that those who are able to support Venezuela can now do so with Petro.

This article is an eye opener about the Venezuelans.
Petrol cause a lot of water lost.
That means venezuelans depend on other countries for food and water.
I pray better days for them @ajongcrypto

Me too brother.

Thanks for visiting.

True is true, no mattern what. Venezuela is going throught a dificult situation.

You are right @frank188

I appreciate your comment.

Interesting choice of topic @ajongcrypto

Im just wondering how many Venezuelians are actually believing in their own crypto. Somehow my own trust towards Petro is close to zero.

And I also wonder if any of raised funds are actually benefiting economy. Somehow I doubt it to.

Yours
Piotr

I had so much believe in the coin until I read the comment below by @franexito I think you should translate the comment too on google translate. It's an eye opener for me.

Thanks for your support as always.

It's working my friend. I see already lots of people coming to read the article.

About 70% of the population in Caracas, the country’s capital does not have access to drinkable and usable water. Another worry that is prior to these water shortages is the rise of diseases such as diphtheria.

I was not aware about Venezuela's food and water crises but not this much (I heard in news but didn't know that 70% population having the issues.)

About the Venezuela's cryptocurrency PETRO, I know about it already. reason is Venezuela's Government offered 30% discount to Indian Government on Crude Oil if Indian Government buy the PETRO and pay them with PETRO for Crude Oil. I heard that Venezuela government also offered this deal to many other countries too. That deal not worked with Indian Government & then I never heard any news related to PETRO deal with other countries.

Then later I heard so many news related to PETRO (other than Crud oil deal)

  • US President Trump Bans US Citizens From Buying Petro
  • Crypto Exchange Bitfinex Won’t Support Venezuela’s Petro
  • Venezuela to Use PETRO as Unit of Account for Salaries, Goods and Services

Once again you wrote great article.
Great Job

Oh! I see. I read about the US ban today morning.

Looks like there is so much attached to this petrol, good thing I came up with this post because I've learnt a lot.

Thanks for your support.

relax friend ... to know what is happening here, you must live in Venezuela.
There are so many things, I do not know where to start.
Of truth that to leave the things in clear it would be necessary to create a good post.
For now I can only tell you that any information that comes from government sources is totally manipulated and does not reflect reality in the least.
I can advise you not to base your criticism on any information coming from the Venezuelan government.
Better look for other sources.
I appreciate you, friend!

I clearly understand what you're saying. I was thinking the government was genuine with her actions.

I think you should be writing about the situation you guys are facing in order to counter the information that is trending about Venezuela. There are a lot of steemians that are interested in this topic.

Thank you for your feedback

I was not aware that Venezuela has their own crypto. Thank you for improving my knowledge @ajongcrypto :)

I am really surprised the president of Venezuela decided to introduce Petro. I noticed that politics are generally afraid of technology, especially cryptocurrencies which may disturb economy. In Poland, where I live, government decided to introduce ridiculous tax, which almost completely inhibited any cryptocurrency exchange. Due to that, many great companies with huge potential in crypto sphere, have left Poland, to avoid bankruptcy.

Therefore, I am full of admiration for Venezuelan president, because probably decision to introduce their own crypto was not so easy.

Greetings, Jan

Yeah based on that, it's a smart move. Most countries including the giant nations are still dormant about cryptocurrencies.

I hope it will change in the future :)

I hope so too @neavvy

Have a lovely new week

Although i doubt that the Petro will benefit any Venezuelan other than certain elites, the move introducing it was certainly a smart one. I wonder how the Petro is currently evaluated on markets, and if actually helps the government raise hard currency.

I clearly don't have an idea about this too.
I only hope it's doing good for the country.

I hope that their crisis should solve soon and teir cryptocurrency petro that you are talking about will definetely grow in coming years

Whatever the case, I wish a better live for Venezuelans too.

Thanks for visiting.

Yeah me too, god bless them

Hi @ajongcrypto
This peice of information is largely massive in my best opinion
I knew the situation in the country was bad but I never knew it was this ugly.,where even water is a big problematic issues.

What's good about this crypto if the economy is not healthy I dare to ask?
Is it a base on which an improvement can be birth?
For me I doubt................... Though I stand to be corrected

The idea behind the creation of this currency is a good one and it will improve the community if the Elites are serious with the project.

if the Elites are serious with the project
That is another subject of discussion, will they?

I don't know for sure if they will.

True @ajongcrypto, Venezuela is really going through a tough time. I have seen many groups within Steemit supporting the Venezuelan cause. I do hope that the petro and gold crypto help them. God bless!

Very true @oivas I have seen a few.

I do hope that the petro and gold crypto help them.

I hope so too. I

BTW, I wish you a lovely week ahead.

Thanks for this informative post @ajongcrypto. I pray that the Venezuelans get out of their plights before they know it.

You mean the President himself built a cryptocurrency?

Oh My! My President is still busy fighting corruption...

Lol Corruption needs to be eradicated too!

Can the price of this currency not dump as well?!

I mean it's cryptocurrency anything can happen or is it pegged at a particular price that it cannot go below?

Yeah, It can dump too @ced000

I hope the manage to pull out of this disheartening situation :( . Commendable decision made by the president ; quite rare to see leaders seek solutions down this path . I really hope it pays off .Might just be an eye opener and a big plus in the race for global adoption .
Very informative post @ajongcrypto . Big ups :)

Absolutely @danielwrites I appreciate you comment.

@ajongcrypto.... I really love the strategy you adopted to produce the title of the post which makes it very attractive to read. Nice work for that 👍.

Venezuela is one of the country undergoing instability due to some issues. Everyone is aware of what is really going on in Venezuela about how some people are suffering, oppression, lack of basic and social amnesties, poor education and many other factors. This is something that really makes me sad when I think about it.

Now faced with these water crises and more, the president of Venezuela has again propose another Cryptocurrency called Petro gold which is allegedly backed by gold.

I really love the idea of the Venezuelan government about creating such a great Initiative of inventing such cryptocurrency.
I believe the Petro Gold may help reduce or eradicate Venezuela crisis.

How can someone obtain such a lovely cryptocurrency?
