In a working democracy no president should continue to rule after the people have expressed with clear majority that they want their 'leader' to step down. The moment this happens any legitimacy that could be claimed via public elections is gone. The dictator in question can no longer claim to act in the name of the population, they simply cling to their power and use violence to suppress the free expression of the population.
Right now this seems to be the case in Venezuela. While Maduro still has some support in the population, there clearly is a lot of opposition towards him. It seems obvious that he should step down or at the very least allow for a free expression to find out how much support there still is for him.
But the situation in France is not that different. Of course the severity of problems in France is much smaller than in Venezuela. But in both cases the leader has lost support from the population. Polls show that 70% of the French want Macron to step down, just like Maduro Macron has become a Tyrant that protects his rule by violence against the population.
Quite amusingly this is what Macron thinks about Maduro:

Loosely translated by me: The Venezuelan people have the right to freely decide their future. Without elections announced within 8 days we are forced to support an interim president to start the political process.
What a hypocrisy. Emmanuel how about you start leading by example and accept that the French people have the sole right to shape their future, not you alone. Without you stepping down within 8 days I will be forced to support the opposition and cannot accept you as the 'legitimate ruler' over France anymore.
Which directly brings me to the next point. Notice how France is largely left to the French. The international community remains quite silent and lets them sort out their problems on their own. But on Venezuela every fucking 'leader' in the world has already taken sides. Trump supports this guy, Putin that guy, ... How about letting the Venezuelans decide what they want?
But it is not about that. Venezuela is not France. Global interest immediately start influencing what happens trying to secure more power over the future and vast resources of Venezuela. What the Venezuelan people want is not important. Whoever wins this struggle, one thing is sure. The people of Venezuela will be the losers.
I don't care much if Venezuela is ruled by a dictator, is a democracy or has communism. I do not have to live there. I am not affected by it. I certainly have my preferences, but they do not matter. There are people that do have to live in Venezuela. That have used their labour to build the county. These are the people that have a local stake and the only thing that should matter is what they want. Ideally they would come together to build a modern anarchism, but that is not very likely. realistically they would need to choose from a couple of toxic options. But it still should be their choice alone. However in this case not even that will happen. Their future will be decided by foreign forces that look to exploit them.
Rule by force is the disease, who and how are symptoms.
Don't trust freedom when it's not in your hands.
