Announcing VYB Earn: 41,342 VYB to WIN ! // Verify Your Brain
Now that the dust has somewhat settled and everyone has had some time to process the recent soft-launch of Verify Your Brain; it's time to bring the opportunities to your doorstep.
Until the 18th of December 2021 the only ways to acquire VYB tokens will be through direct-exchange of POB/VYB, via the Hive-Engine VYB market, or through one of the many contests to be sponsored by @vyb.earn (we've got 40,000+ VYB to try to dole out in just under two weeks).
If you don't have any liquid POB lying around, or if you want to maintain a healthy POB stake for the future ahead, read on to find out how you can earn some VYB tokens through your brainy 'proved and verified' creativity.
There are currently three ways to earn some precious early VYB via @vyb.earn:
- Proof of Blind
- Show Your VYB
- VYBolt Lightning
Proof of Blind (with a VYB twist)
If you're looking to step onto the scene with eyes on your content, Proof of Blind may be the contest for you, ironically so.
By submitting original content via Proof of Blind, you throw away your crutches and cane, set your sights on direct and honest feedback, and get recognized and rewarded for your original content.

And, choosing to ditch fifth glyphs from your ABC's on Proof of Blind posts will allow you to snatch even more VYBs. Try it. You might just find out that it's lots of fun, trying to talk naturally without that filthy fifth glyph (that ubiquitous symbol known as ' e ').

The Show Your VYB contest is FREE-FLOW in keeping with the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license. We're not sure how to encapsulate the boundaries of that, forever, so our basic definition is:

You can improve awareness for Creative Commons on the platform by referencing your content appropriately (recommended, but not required). We're hoping to find synergies with other projects and tribes who see the value in widely-shared yet legally-protected creative works.
Creators can remix, transform, and redistribute the graphic we've shared above (as long as) proper attribution is made to the original image and its creator, and the Creative Commons license is clearly stated or referenced, thanks!

Publish a post Showing Your VYB
Please use #showyourvyb or #syv as a tag on your post (along with #vyb or #verifyyourbrain), otherwise your entry won't be recognized as valid.
Winners will be announced on the 18th of December 2021, in the Official VYB Launch Post.
VYBolt Lightning (Beta Version)
VYBolt Lightning is the fastest and easiest way for you to earn some quick liquid VYB.
It's as simple as this: Answer a question -> receive some VYB.
@vybolt will comment on various #vyb or #verifyyourbrain tagged posts or comments with a question for a named recipient.
The named recipient will have 12 hours to reply, otherwise the reward window will close (for earning early VYB from that particular @vybolt comment).
Thoughtfully answer the question before the 12 hours tick away and you'll receive at least 5 VYB (more if you can start a chain of responses -- see below).
@mineopoly (creator of the Greedy Yellow Bird game, now the Verified Valiant Yellow Bird game) has agreed to co-manage @vyb.earn's VYBolt Lightning commenting contest alongside @calumam. If you've played the 'Greedy Yellow Bird' game, you will notice a few similarities -- however, in keeping with the brainy VYBs you would expect from a tribe named 'Verify Your Brain', this contest will require a bit more brainpower, imagination, and attention to detail than the Greedy Valiant Yellow Bird game. Hope you enjoy it!
VYBolt Lightning Chains
If you tag one (and only one) friend in your original reply (edits to replies will be ignored), then ...
@vybolt will respond to your answer with a confirmation (5 VYB earned) and pose a question for your tagged friend to answer (will usually be the same question, but might be different),
a 12-hour timer for your friend's answer will begin,
to successfully extend the chain, your friend must directly and meaningfully reply to @vybolt's comment before the time expires (replies are only valid if they're in direct response to the @vybolt comment where your account was tagged -- all other replies will be ignored by @vybolt),
to further extend the chain, your friend must tag one (and only one) new friend in their original reply,
any retagging of someone who was already tagged in the current VYBolt Lightning chain will trigger a VYBolt Lightning Strike (see below).
If you don't tag exactly one friend in your reply;
- When your answer meets the quality requirements (metrics for determining quality will be introduced as VYBolt grows), you'll receive 5 VYB, but the lightning chain will break = @vybolt resets and a new question will be posed to a new first commenter.
When Lightning Strikes -- and Other Chain-Break Conditions
Any of the following conditions will break the VYBolt Lightning chain:
Initial 12 hour timer expires before the first commentor responds.
New 12 hour timer expires before a subsequent commentor responds.
A single comment-chain receives 3 lightning strikes (a lightning strike occurs whenever the same person is tagged twice in the same chain).
[6]A single comment-chain receives 2 consecutive lightning strikes (after all, lightning never strikes twice, right?)
A comment is low quality / low effort.
(repeat commenters can respond again to @vybolt with a different answer, to potentially earn another 5 VYB, at the risk of breaking the chain if they: tag someone who has already commented (two strikes in a row will break the chain) or write a comment that is very similar to or significantly worse than their previous answer)
Bonus VYB prizes will be given to all commentors when VYBolt Lightning milestones are successfully reached
For example:
#10 in the VYBolt Lightning chain responds and receives 5 VYB for answering the question.
Commenters #1 - #10 will each receive at least 10 bonus VYB, for keeping the chain going and reaching the #10 milestone, and a greater bonus if they achieve a higher milestone. (Unless the chain is broken due to lightning strikes -- see below).
Milestone Bonuses in Play between #10 and #50
10 VYB bonus each for a #10 VYBolt Lightning chain (50 VYB (10x5) + 100 bonus VYB (10x10) = 150 total VYB earned)
15 VYB bonus each for a #15 VYBolt Lightning chain (75 VYB (15x5) + 225 bonus VYB (15x15) = 300 total VYB earned)
25 VYB bonus each for a #25 VYBolt Lightning chain (125 VYB(25x5) + 625 bonus VYB (25x25) = 750 total VYB earned)
40 VYB bonus each for a #40 VYBolt Lightning chain (200 VYB(40x5) + 1,600 bonus VYB (40x40) = 1,800 total VYB earned)
50 VYB bonus each for a #50 VYBolt Lightning chain (250 VYB(50x5) + 2,500 bonus VYB (50x50) = 2,750 total VYB earned)
Milestone Bonuses Can be Cut in Half by Lightning Strikes
If the chain is broken because of lightning strikes (i.e. 3 total strikes or 2 consecutive strikes), then not only does the chain immediately break, all VYB bonuses for that chain will be cut in half. For example, if a #40 chain is broken due to a third lightning strike, then each commenter #1 - #40 will earn their original 5 VYB plus only 20 (instead of 40) bonus VYB.

this is cool, didn't spot y'all's soft launch but i'm following to stay caught up with vyb. indisputably gonna try to do earn through proof of blind, probably go for fifth glyph bonus also, although it's fairly hard to pull off just in this dispatch
