Steem's SMT is like a jackpot for us steem holders and an alternative for these "Stupid" money (Stupid because the numbers tend to make one go retarded for a second).
strictly speaking math, capturing 5% of these ICO runners already represent a potential 100 million into the Steem Market.
that is not even speaking of the other function of SMT that exceeds what ERC20 can currently do.

If this is used by ICO's then STEEM is going to Moon.
I think that was the intention from Steemit inc. But it can only be used for projects that resemble Steemit. You cann create an ICO for another tech cryptocurrency. So it is quite a difference to an Ethereum based ICO that sells a coin that neither is based on Ethereum nor Steem. Like EOS for example.
