in #video4 years ago

Hello everyone,

Here is the long-promised and long-awaited series of photos and a bonus video of my cycling vacation in Raseborg, Southern Finland, in the end of July:

I wish my buddy @scrooger could have joined me on that adventure. He's a big cycling enthusiast and I'm sure he would have appreciate the beautiful nature, the lovely small touristy villages, and great food that Southern Finland had to offer us on that trip:

Enjoy your vacation, Southern Finland looks so beautiful, and that food must have been sooo good!
Leisure travel has only now opened up here but we can still not travel interprovincially. We fortunately had a vacation in the beautiful Western Cape just before Covid really hit us but are longing for another breakaway, will have to wait as we had to close our business during the hard lockdown!

Thank you for your kind words, Lizelle! The food was amazing, indeed. :)

Sorry to hear about the closure of your business due to the pandemic lock-down. Do you have any plans on re-opening it any time soon? What business do you run?

It’s a paradox, isn’t? On one hand, one has more free time now, when so many businesses were forced to shut down. But, on the other hand, one wants to save money and not spend it on a vacation, as the prospects for resumed income streams remain uncertain…

We run a small BnB and had to close for 3 months but fortunately are back up and running again.
Thankfully I could cash in all my Steem and sadly some Hive too, but it really helped patch some holes during those 3 months!
Our government really are not handling this pandemic correctly, they've just about destroyed tourism with the harsh regulations, restaurants and pubs are also struggling, with many closures as there's an alcohol ban and a curfew from 10pm!
It's so very true, we would also love to take a break but have to count our pennies as we really don't know what the future holds with so many businesses having closed doors permanently! We host a lot of business guests in the low season.
Let's just hope for the best so that the world can get back to some kind of new normality, 2020 really has been a horrible year!
We try to make the best of our lives like enjoying the natural beauty around us, there are millions less fortunate.
Take care and enjoy your beautiful country!

Heads up: it's finally live on my blog, @joanstewart ;)
