I saw a question the other day about why PeakD Snaps can't use video and if they will. I know this has been talked about before, and I don't know what the future may hold, but there is something you can do that works today.
You can embed video w/ PeakD snaps/posts by using a simple snippet and IPFS. Talking with the team, I managed to get a helper button added to make this even easier.
Prior to this, you could create a <video></video> tag with certain syntax to create a video embed.
Now, you can just click a button. The button is on the beta site for now, but will likely show up on PeakD at some point.
Unfortunately, this is not supported by Hive.blog, and will show up blank. I don't think it works on LEO either. I will try to reach out and see if I can get it supported across other platforms. Ecency does something similar with a partnership with 3Speak for hosting videos.
I'll show you how to use this, and then show you how you can get some IPFS storage to take advantage of it for free.
How to post a video (on beta.peakd.com)
This will create the following text that will allow for a video embed.

If you are not using the beta site, you can just manually create this text to accomplish the same thing.
How to get free IPFS storage
Lighthouse Storage is a rather new player in the IPFS industry that combines IPFS with Filecoin for storage. I believe they are a rebirth of free NFT Storage service into a commercial service. They have a generous 5 GB free plan you can use to host quite a bit of small videos and images like these. For long videos, you will eventually run out of space.
One unique thing about Lighthouse is they have a very cost effective plans that are one-time fee for lifetime storage. They are a lot smaller than their subscription plans, but for $100 you can get 25 GB of storage for life or 5 GB for only $20 one-time fee.
If you are posting 30 minute or 1 hour videos, this obviously won't last long, but clips and images it will last a long time.
It's not perfect, but it is an option. I like to post small videos that are funny or interesting, and in the past I have been posting them on Twitter and posting the link to the tweet here, which does work well due to the Twitter embed functionality that was added a while ago back when I was working on the twitter bot.
This also works in PeakD snaps!
Or just create a throw away Google account.. and upload the videos to YouTube and then you can post them into your articles! easy peasy :)

"Harbor" is the largest plan they offer? It makes sense for small videos as you mentioned. I don't post a lot of videos on HIVE just because in the past I had to either use 3Speak or put them on YouTube first then link them. I thought anyway. I might have to check this out.
I believe so. If you need a ton of storage could just use a vps or something to host.
i hadn't really thought about it but being able to post clips to peakd would be really useful to me, i'd definitely use that since i shoot a lot of short videos and it'd be nice to share them, especially when they don't actually warrant a full post

3speak requires you to create a post via their system and can’t be used in snaps.

This seems very useful, if only temporarily, because of the storage limitations. I appreciate your provision of this specific instruction on how to provide snippets of video. For smaller videos of less than 1 minute, I suspect that (if audio isn't necessary) conversion to Gifs would be more useful, as Gifs can be stored on ordinary Hive image servers and displayed on posts by that means.

The quality drop and lack of audio is big even for sub one minute video.
Sure, but even so they can really add to a conversation far more palatably than a wall of text. 5 gigs is really a lot of short vids, though, so when the audio is necessary, as it often is, it's really nice to have the option you detailed in the OP.
we've been doing this at skatehive.app for a while, using the < iframe > tag. videos are stored in a paid account at pinata. the videos show fine on peakd and snaps.
Good discovery. It would be better if PeakD dev team will accept short videos. You know not all are those tech gurus to go about manually.
There is a lot to hosting and serving video. Especially somewhere like hive.

Already been answered, you don't have to ask 6 times a day. Do better.
Sometimes I want to add multiple videos in a post which we can't do with current 3speak (unless if we decline rewards and post them from somewhere first). This also solves current limitations of 3speak.
