Hy friends today I am going to discuss about fitness in brief

AAHPER is "American Aliance for Health, Physical Education and Recreation". This test was developed in AAHPER TEST (FOR MOTOR FITNESS) 047 to check, compare and evaluate the physical fitness standards of American Youth and school children. The test has six test items (test battery) which has to be performed in two days. Students should warm up before they participatewth in the test. They should be medically fit



 Administration and Procedure of Test

#lst Day : Test Item No. 1. Pull-up (hoys) / Flexed-ArBang (Girls):
This test is used to measure theund perform flexed-arm-hang. In pull-up boys have to touch chin to bar while hanging vertically. In flexed-arm-hang girlsstrength muscular strength and muscular endurance of arms and shoulder muscles. Boys perform pull-ups whereas girls raise the body up while feet over the surface diagonally. The bar should be adjusted to height of student. Studen ld be advised to raise the body so that chin reaches the level of bar. Maximum number of pull up flexed-arm hang without taking rest is the score of this test.

#Test Item No. 2. Bent-Knee-Sit-ups :

This test helps to measure the muscular strength and muscular endurance of trunk muscles (abdominal and hip muscles). For boys, student lies down on his back and hands kept under the nectk while legs are flexed (may be supported by helper). Feet are held by partner, fingers should be interlocked and put behind the head. Student should elbow to knees. For girls, position is almost same except hands are kept over thigh muscles. In this maximum number of sit-up has to be performed in one minute to give scoring

#Test Item No. 3. Shuttle-Run : <br
This test is to check speed and coordinative ability (agility). In test student has pick-up two wooden blocks/ husters from 10 yard distance lines and place them over the starting line. Student has to pick one wooden block/duster at-a-time. Time is recorded the nearest 10th of a second as score. Two parallel lines are drawn yards (30 feet) apart. Two wooden blocks/dusters are kept on one side of marked line. On start the student runs oward s wooden blocks/ dusters and picks up one them. Then places the black on the line from started. The student continues to run and similarly lifts the other black and places sarting line where the test.



#2nd Day : Test Item No. 4. Standing Broad-Jump :

This test is to check explosive strength of legs. Student should stand on marked line (Take-off line) with feet close. He/She dips at knee and swings before jumping. Student has jump with both legs together to maximum distance in sandpit. The distance from take-off line to the landing point considered. He/She is given three chances and the best is counted as score in feet and inches from the nearest end.



#Test Item No. 5.

50 Yard Dash : This test is to check speed and explosive strength ability of lower extremities (legs). In this student has to run with maximum speed upto 50 yards finish line. Time is noted as score in nearest 10th of a second.

#Test Item No. 6.

600 Yard Run or Walk: This test is to measure cardiovascular endurance. In this student has to run or walk covering 600 yards yards shortest time. Time is noted in minutes and seconds as a score.

#Evaluation of Test :

 After completing all test items the recorded scores of tests are converted into percentile scores from the table of norms provided by AAHPER (American Alliance for Health, Physical Education and Recreation) based on age. The percentile scores of the student help to evaluate and compare the performance with other groups of same age.
