Why You Should Try View.ly

in #viewly7 years ago (edited)

This morning while browsing our feed we saw @paulag's new post about View.ly now in the alpha stage for testing. Testing started weeks ago but we haven't noticed until now. Lesson here is to sign up for updates and follow developers. Live and learn.

We thought we'd test this ourselves a bit.

Original Video

Our choice of test video is a pretty awesome video by SwarfWorks exposing how car manufacturers are faking engine noises through internal and external vehicle speakers, using settings beyond typical user control. (We suggest you 'Like' his video if you have a YouTube account).

Result

The upload was quick and worked well. Currently, the test account is @useruploads and the video is thus credited there for curation purposes.

Upon uploading, the interface will link the content to Steemdb and IPFS Root.

^ This is the content of the actual entry as it appears on Steemit via Steemdb.

Notice that it's showing the video twice. This is because we added a YouTube link in the description in order to ensure the original author receives credit.

We'd say it would probably be best if the application reformatted description links to prevent displaying the same video by accident. If @furion sees this post, we hope he can set us straight. Click on his account to view previous posts about View.ly.

Conclusion

You should try out View.ly for yourself.

There is currently no risk or need to sign up to give it a shot and get to experience a glimpse of what the final product holds in store.

Don't forget to 'Like' our original video creator on YouTube and give him some positive feedback for making such a kickass vid exposing this car noise scam.

So one can embed Viewly video's now? COOL!

Since they don't auto-embed in personal profiles yet we just copied the code from Steemdb to mimic the process.

Great stuff! Thanks for sharing.

Hi @guiltyparties. I am only seeing this post now, thank you for the mention
