Day Trading cryptocurrency versus long term investing

I exited Ethereum expecting to get back in around $850 but it appears to be holding 4 figures. This leads to question the viability of day trading crypto currencies especially Ethereum. Do you have an effective strategy or charting tool you can recommend? I have seen some interesting charts on tradingview. Ideally it would be good to have a long term portfolio and day trading account for cashflow. @vincentb
