Saw a German son with a Yankee gun and a uniform much older

The Skids - THE ABSOLUTE GAME 1980

Just a brilliant album. I remember seeing Richard Jobson on Top of the Pops wearing desert garb with an Arab scarf and the very next day rushing out to the local Army surplus and kitting myself out. The scarf I bought from the market, it could very well have been Pettycoat Lane? I can't remember now.

I often wondered if they titled this album as a joke because to be honest its a bit dreary if you ask me.

The Skids - Fields (12" Single) 1981
You need to be in a field, scythe in hand tilling the soil while listening to this. Not long after the band broke up and Stuart Anderson went on to form Big Country. Personally, I got the feeling Anderson just wanted to keep churning out the same tune style over and over again, I wasn't a fan.

I own all of the vinyl albums shown here except for the few that belong to my wife. Each album is generally played in its entirety unless I dislike a side.
