No sunshine yet, but at least the gustiness weakened, and so is the rain. Occasional drizzles only. Hopefully, the weather continues to improve.
We had to go out during the day to pick up the parcels at my sister's workplace, and to visit my FIL whom we haven't been able to contact since the onset of the strong rains. He was great. It turned out he messed with his phone settings and accidentally disabled his sim card. Guess we have to get used to our old folks screwing up with their gadgets.😅
"I didn't know," he laughed when I discovered the issue and told him about it. "That's why I kept trying to call or text anyone, but nothing was going through, so I thought my sim was broken," he continued. "Please remove things that I don't need," he requested. The hubby thought the font size was too big, but Papa said he likes it that way so he can easily read them.
Spending a little over two hours at his place, we left and drove to DD to check our little abode. It's holding up, thankfully. The mud, fallen debris, including some shrubs are still trapped in the whole north wall, with almost no space to exit since the structure is L-Shape. We realized we need to hire heavy equipments to clear them. Not today though. Everyone is busy dealing with the aftermaths of the Habagat.
Anyway, we are back in BC with two 30-L gallons of gas for the generator since we are still out of electricity. Dad is worried his frozen stocks would spoil, but we hope it won't take long for the power company to fix things and restore normal services. Experiencing interruptions during these wet months is inevitable, and we just have to be patient to avoid unnecessary stress😊
