In this day and age technology rules the world and there are many brands that are famous world wide with every body knowing them by just saying the brands name. Some of the most famous brands in this day and age are Samsung, Sony, Panasonic and its hard not to mention the famous apple brand.
Apple is one of the most famous and successful brand in the world with its logo known everywhere. Apple become famous when they first made their iPhone this was the thing that brought them their most success but before that they worked on computers. Their leader and CEO was Steve Jobs who made apple what they are today. Steve Jobs has grown through so much within the time he was alive it wasn’t a smooth road to success that everyone think it is. He went through a lot of hardships in the time he was alive to make apple one of the most successful technology company there is today. But today we will be looking at some of the mistakes he made during his time.

The biggest mistake that Steve jobs made in his life would be hiring a guy named John Scully who was working as vice president of PepsiCo until Steve jobs who convince him to join apple Steve jobs used a famous pitch telling John Scully do you want to sell sugared water for the rest of your life or do you want to come with me and change the world. This sentence is what made John decided to leave PepsiCo and join apple. After John Scully joined apple the sales of apple stuff increased from $800 million to $8 billion under his management during this time there was a power struggle and a falling out between Steve Jobs and John and the board of directors at apple decided to agree with John and fire Steve Jobs out of his own company.
After being fired from apple Steve Jobs started a new company called next Inc. who also made and sold computer this company did not go well for Steve and did not sell that many because it was competing with his old company apple who was already a well known brand and other windows computers. The next computers also did not do any marketing and they did not know who they were aiming their computers at which makes it hard for them to advertise to people if they don’t know who they want to see too. Although Steve tried his best to make them successful he finally sold the company to apple for $429 million on 1996.
After Steve jobs return to apple he started working on the iPhone and made another mistake by inviting Eric Schmidt to join in on a meeting about it. At that time the iPhone was meant to be top secret and it was in being made for 2 years now. After Eric joined in on the meeting three months before this meeting google started start to invest a lot into android phones and was copying designs from Blackberries after the meeting though Eric saw how the future of phones was going to be and how successful apple was going to be so he went back to google and asked the people at android to be able to make something the same as apple, this was another mistake for Steve because he thought of google as a friend and something that could help apple become better but instead they turned out to be apples biggest competitor. After android phones become a huge success Steve was very angry and decided to banned all types of google features on their phones such as google maps and YouTube from the phones default applications but due to apples mapping applications being very bad and making customers upset apple decided to use google services again.
Steve jobs has also made a lot of other mistakes that are not so big compared to the ones that are already listed above. The other mistakes Steve and apple are products that did not become successful and not sell a lot. The reason why are many such as poor design, high pricing and people were just not interested in it. The few that stand out the most is the hockey puck mouse the design of this mouse is round shaped making it uncomfortable for users hands and made it hard to control. Second failed product is the IPod Hi-Fi, which was a speaker that you plug your iPod into and play music loudly although there is nothing wrong with this product the pricing for it was what made it unsuccessful, and people not buy it.
Although Steve jobs made a lot of big and small mistakes during the time he was alive but he was able to keep going no matter what and became smarter from it and made his company more and more successful from it. He was able to learn from past mistakes and then make sure that it never happens again. It just shows that no matter how many mistakes someone makes you will still be able to become successful if you try hard enough.
