humanitarian journey on one of the remote islands of Indonesia

in #volunteerlast year

in 2021 I am interested in volunteering for community service activities in disadvantaged areas on the island of NTT, eastern Indonesia.

This trip is very memorable for me because there are many things that I can take from all the moments in it

This dedication itself aims to help health, education and empower local communities to be more prosperous in the economic field

we gathered from several people who have different professions and come from different regions in Indonesia, of course there are many things that we can tell and share with each other about experiences in volunteer journeys.

to reach our destination island, namely Nusa Tenggara Timur, we gathered at one point and departed together which took up to 35 hours of travel by Large ships. long enough and along the way we only saw the open sea!

and after arriving at Labuan Bajo Island we also had to use a small boat to get to the destination village about 2 hours away.

when I arrived at my destination I was very happy because we were warmly welcomed by local residents with traditional dances and welcome ceremonies.

Boleng Island is one of the underdeveloped areas where it is difficult to access health, education and clean water. On this island, the work of the majority of the residents is fishermen, they go to sea and sell their catch to the traditional market

living with these limitations makes the children in this village have no motivation to achieve a good education even so they are very interested and like to learn.

this place is a special impression for me because of its very beautiful natural panorama, clear and clean seas, lots of fish and culture that is still very attached to its residents, making it feel like being at home to linger on this island. this island also not many people know about its potential because places like this are not captured on social media because this place does not yet have a signal.

thank you for reading this story to the end, I will continue the excitement and uniqueness of this place in the next article!!!
