RE: WHICH PLATFORM DO YOU PREFER?

in #vyb4 years ago

Wow, that is a harsh start to the new year!

I've long had a strong dislike of Discord which I think is spying on users - but you are the first person I've heard of being kicked off it. You have done well!

Now then, attempting to answer your question:

Storing 1100 articles. Neither Bastyon or Gab would be much help there. But Baston chat is a very good private chat for communicating with other people who are on it. Only catch is that most people don't have accounts on Bastyon and are not used to it. I do think it is genuinely private. Gab has chat too but it is nothing special.

Hive, being a blockchain, in theory can't delete your content. But insiders can downvote you until you have a negaive rep and your pictures dissappear on the Hive front end - you can see that done on one of my burner alt accounts - @pube - over the years lots of accounts on Steemit and Hive have had that done to them.

From there it gets more complex. You can post your content on Wordpress, but if you use their servers they can certainly delete it.

I do use Wordpress myself but I'm hosting it on my own server space I'm renting. But that server is hosted in New Zealand, and can be threatened by the NZ government. I've already been told to remove some content under threat of a 7 year jail term.

I keep backups of all my content on both cloud storage and my own hard drives. If I got wiped I would probably rent server space in Switzerland and repost it there. But even that is not fully secure, if the globalists really want something removed, they can get it deleted in Switzerland too.

Here is a workaround: If you only post on Hive with your rewards turned off, the insiders can't downvote you and take your rep down, So all your old content remains visable on the Hive blockchain.

And if you add the tag #vyb to your posts, even with the Hive rewards turned off, you can still earn VYB tokens. In fact, in those, I'm a whale and can give your posts good upvotes.

So basically, your existing content on Hive is secure if you no longer post with the rewards on in Hive. That is the situation I've found myself in, and that is my best solution. But I'm sure other people could answer this a lot better...

We are being hounded offline, wouldn't you say?
Fascist bullies everywhere, on & off the internet!
My grandparents (RIP) would be shocked that this world has become so hostile towards original thinkers, especially as they trusted Churchill & believed they lived in a "free country"!
Maybe I should take up knitting & crochet like a good obedient grannie?
Now that might be a more relaxing pastime!
Fighting with dyed wool rather than dying fools?

Yes, we certainly are - but in many ways I think that the more they try to censor us the more they help create new uncensored ways to spread information - VYB for example grew out of downvoting on Hive.

And the big platforms like Twatter are driving everone onto other platforms
