Bitcoin (BTC)
How to buy BTC
As of May 30, 2018, bitcoin’s price was $7,517. WishKnish CEO Alisa Gus predicts the highest price for July 1, 2018, at $10,700. As for 2018 performance overall, here too Gus forecasts the highest value at $25,000 by December 31st.
Gus is optimistic about seeing a rebound later in the year, saying, “Often, these dips come about when fundamentals are fairly strong, and are perpetuated by market panic.”
The lowest end-of-year prediction of $5,778 comes from Kunal Patel, council member of GLG (Gerson Lehrman Group).
The number of bitcoins expected to circulate by the end of the year is 17,450,250 (based on 1,800 coins mined per day). From here, we can work out the estimated market capitalization for December 31, 2018. Based on our panelists’ forecasts of value per coin by December 31, the predicted market cap for bitcoin by the end of 2018 sits at $255.4 billion.

“The sideways movement is still in full force. There has been a lot of talk around turning NASDAQ into a crypto exchange, and there are multiple trade sales of crypto exchanges to the incumbent finance world. So things are slowly becoming more ‘normal.’ With that said, still holding $10K prediction until we see results of these changes.”

MY PREDICTION
“Provided some technical changes come into place, I see bitcoin as more of a passer coin for the future. Sure, it set this all up, and we all set similarities between bitcoin and gold. However, the volatility in the market doesn’t support this too much. My prediction is at $~12K end of year, as I see the market recovering from the hit it’s taken recently. However, not in a manner that will see massive spikes, but a more stable and sustainable bull run.”

MY PREDICTION
“While I am positive on the longer-term prospects, in the short term, BTC might have some downward pressure, as it looks like it could close below the 50-week moving average, with bears pushing prices lower. There could be a corrective rally, but perhaps not until Q3. The Consensus summit in New York showed the strong underlying interest in BTC and its applications.”

“I am a technical trader, so predicting something as volatile as bitcoin a month out is hard in the current market. Based on the monthly bitcoin chart, we are in an uptrend. And although the market is currently having a hard time short term, the long -term trend is still up. Unless we break down through $6,245, I think we will see a recovery by July 1st to $9,000.”

MY PREDICTION
“The expected influx of institutional money and increased adoption of cryptocurrency as a whole will likely lead to an increase in the value of bitcoin. The market is moving toward a state of maturity, and it is unlikely we are going to see the explosive increase we witnessed at the end of last year. I have seen predictions of up to $100,000 US by the end of 2018; however, I believe this is a bit too optimistic. Modest and sustainable growth in value is a more likely scenario. The recent state of the market has led to a change in the pattern of traders and investors, whereby they are more regularly taking profit after a price rise. aAnd without a considerable increase in volume, it becomes difficult for the market to sustain a regular increase in the price of the coin. Another key factor to consider is the crypto/fiat pairings, which we are seeing more of on the major exchanges. In the past, bitcoin and Ethereum represented the primary means of access to a number of coins. However, this particular component of total demand is likely to decrease. That said, bitcoin does, however, remain the gold standard and the cornerstone currency of the market. And as adoption improves, so will the value of bitcoin.”
