The King sent you to call!

in #wafrica6 years ago

Greetings friends of steemit this day we will reflect on the word of God in a wonderful story of love, restoration and hope. It is the story of Mephi Boset Son of Jonathan, the younger son of King Saul and how the great King David had mercy on him and sent him to call his palace to live with him.

Who was Mefi Boset ?: Mefi Boset was grandson Saul, the first king of Israel, meaning that Mephi Boset was a prince, someone of the royal lineage in the people of Israel, someone who had already enjoyed living in the royal palace, He had already tasted the king's food, which had already worn the clothes of the king's sons.

What happened to Mefi Boset ?: When I was 5 years old came the news of the death of King Saul, and the dangers that this meant for the king's family, his nurse took him in his arms and when he ran he fell, and from that hard fall I'm lame for life, I'm crippled from his feet.

Mefi Boset lost everything in one fell swoop: he lost his grandfather the king, lost his father Jonathan and lost his uncles (1 Samuel 31: 6 - So Saul, his three sons, his squire and his troops died together on that same day) lost the ability to walk normally again, leaving the palace and flee, lost the inheritance of the king's family, their lands, their possessions, their wealth.

But what does the name Mefi Boset mean ?: means "the ashamed", or "he who scatters shame or produces shame"

Where did Mefi Boset go to live after I fled from the palace? He went to live in the house of Makir son of Amiel in a place called Lodebar. "Immediately the king asked him:" Is there anyone from Saul's family who still If so, I would like to show you the kindness of God. "Siba replied," Yes, one of Jonathan's sons is alive. "He is crippled on both feet." Where is he? "asked the king. Siba answered him, "in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel." (2 Samuel 9: 3-4)

Lodebar means "without grass", it was an arid, desert place. Now let's take all this data and reflect on our life, reflect and realize that this story perfectly reflects the lives of many of us:
We are children of the king like Mephi Boset, we are children of the king of kings, we have experienced the blessings of

God, we have delighted ourselves sitting at the table of the spiritual banquet of our Lord, we have dressed in the royal clothes of his love and his sorry.

But like Mefi Boset we have had falls in our lives that have hurt us, falls of which we have not returned to walk the same way in the Lord. Many walk creeping through the dust of spiritual misery.

We have fallen in sin, fallen in vices, falls that have separated us from the ways of God. Possibly someone made you fall like Mefi Boset, they did not break your feet but your dreams, your joy, your goals: maybe you were abused or abused, maybe a man or a woman destroyed your heart or your self-esteem.

Like Mefi Boset you are living in Lodebar, you are living a life without fruit, a life full of scarcity, you are far from the Lord, perhaps you think that, because of your mistakes, because of what you have lived, for what you have done, you have no right to be close to the Lord.

Like Mefi Boset, you feel that you are the one who is ashamed, that everything goes wrong, the one that always causes you shame, pain, sadness to your family and your self-esteem is destroyed.

But there is a detail of this story that we should note, there is a detail that is very important because there our restoration begins "Then David sent for him and took him out of the house of Machir" (2 Samuel 9: 5)

Mephi Boset went to Lodebar, the land without dreams, the land without grass, the barren land, but he came to the house of Makir, son of Ammiel, and Amiel has a wonderful meaning, Amiel means: God is my kinsman, and if God is my relative, if I am a child of God I can be sure that the Lord does not abandon his children!

Let's see how Mefi Boset, the ashamed one, could get to sit down again at the king's table, as he was able to enter again in front of the presence of the king and like us despite our mistakes, despite our falls, in spite of the shame we could have caused, we can also be sure that the king sends us to call.

1)Because the king has not forgotten us (vs 3-5) even though everyone has turned their backs on you, the king is thinking of you, the Lord has not turned his back on you, he has thoughts of blessing for our life despite our mistakes, despite our falls.

2)Because the king has decided to give you what was yours, but you did not enjoy it "-Don't be afraid!" David said, "my intention is to show you my kindness for what I promised your father Jonathan, I will give you all the properties that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will eat here with me, at the king's table. "(V-7)

Mefi Boset had the right to his father's land, to the wealth of his father, but he had lost it, just as we have the right to live a life of blessing because we are children of God, but because of our bad decisions we do not enjoy them, but in his mercy the king has pleased to give them to us.

3)Maybe we think we do not deserve it "Mefiboset bowed respectfully and exclaimed: - Who is your servant to show such kindness to a dead dog like me? (vs 8)

Mephi Boset considered himself a dead dog who did not deserve mercy, but David was pleased to call him to his table and return everything that belonged to him. "Then the king called Siba, Saul's servant, and said," I have given to your master's grandson everything that belonged to Saul and his family. " 2Sa 9:10 You, your sons and your servants, will cultivate the land for him, that he may produce food for your master's house. * But Mephibosheth, your master's grandson, will eat here at my table. (Siba had fifteen children and twenty servants). (vs 9 -10)

Maybe you think that you do not deserve everything that God has for your life, maybe you think you've made a lot of mistakes, that you've caused a lot of shame, that you do not deserve another chance, but, believe it or not, this day ...

Just do what Mefi Boset did, tell him if the King ... Siba replied: "Yes, my lord the king, I am his servant and I will do everything he has ordered me to do. From that moment, Mephibosheth ate at David's table, as if he were one of the king's sons.( 2Sa 9:11)
