Attaboy

in #wafrica6 years ago

In the beginning, support comes not from family or friends, but from total strangers who gain naught from the attaboy but a thank you. While those you love, peer from the shadows waiting, lurking, hoping you succeed but innately wishing you fail. When upon success, like cockroaches they appear, smiling, laughing, patting you on the back with a belated "Attaboy," a day late and a dollar short with their fake smiles and bastard enthusiasms hoping to worm their way into the bandwagon close to your wallet where fake friends portend. Am I alone or is there anyone else who suffers from a lack of support from amongst their family and friend pool, let's hear your Attaboy stories and how you handled the disappointment of not getting the support needed from those you love and how you managed to succeed in spite of- going it alone.
