Chhiwat l'khayma : Casablanca, Morocco.

in #waivio3 years ago (edited)

On my second day in the white city, Casablanca, I just wanted not to lose any time...and go out to discover the maximum I can in my 2 weeks holidays over there!

I've always heard about Tanjia - a classic Moroccan dish mainly prepared in Marrakech.

Tanjia is a dish cooked in an earthenware pot for long hours...
So...I asked my father in law to bring me to a place where we can have the best tanjia in Casa!

Chhiwat L'khayma was the restaurant he brought us to.

After 15 minutes drive, we reached the place!
I was ready to discover the famous Tanjia live n direct!

I ordered some different foods to taste a little in each...oh yes, Moroccan cuisine is just amazing!
So we had Beef Tanjia, Fried Calamari, Moroccan Salad with Tuna, Beef Tajine with plums and freshly cooked bread!

Tafarnout Bread

Tafarnout is Berber bread and it is cooked over coals in a traditional clay oven.
It was perfect to have with the Tajine and Tanjia!

Fried Calamari
Fried calamari is such a popular dish across Morocco...this one was very fresh and tasty!
Crispy on the outside and soft flesh!

Beef tajine with raisins and eggs!

The sweetness brought by the raisins in this tajine brings it to another level!

Moroccan salad with Tuna

Moroccan starts all their lunches and dinners with some fresh salad, here we topped it up with some tuna.
It was very tasty and refreshing!

Tanjia!

This is why I came over...to finally taste the tanjia!
Normally the waiter comes to your table and do the service, that is pour the tanjia out of the pot right in front of you...

What a unique experience!

And the beef cooked inside was so aromatic and tasty!

Overall it was a great experience at this restaurant, highly recommended for the unique atmosphere, very friendly service and yummy food.
