Ingredients
🍞 50g of yeast, Calsa brand
🥄 2 teaspoons of sugar
🌾 1 kilogram of common flour, Cañuelas brand
🥓 200 grams of pork fat, room temperature, appears liquid
💧 400 cc of warm water
🧂 1 tablespoon of salt, Celusal Fina brand
🧴 Oil spray, Carrefour brand for greasing
Instructions
1- Activate the Yeast:
- In a red plastic mixing bowl, combine 50g of yeast with 2 teaspoons of sugar. Add a little of the 400cc of warm water and stir until dissolved.
- Sprinkle some flour over the mixture, cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and let it rest for 15 minutes in a warm spot to allow the yeast to foam and activate.
2- Prepare the Dough:
- On a clean kitchen countertop, create a well with 1 kilogram of flour.
- Add 200g of room-temperature pork fat into the well, mixing with your hands until a crumbly texture forms.
3- Combine Ingredients:
- Pour the activated yeast mixture into the flour and fat mixture.
- Gradually incorporate the rest of the 400cc of warm water, which contains 1 tablespoon of salt, into the dough, ensuring even mixing.
4- Knead the Dough:
- Knead on the countertop for about 15-20 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. Adjust with extra water if needed to avoid dryness.
5- Second Rise:
- Place the dough in a stainless steel mixing bowl, lightly dusted with flour. Cover it with a kitchen towel and let it rest for 30-40 minutes until it has significantly increased in volume.
6- Shape the Buns:
- After rising, gently punch the dough down to release air. Divide into 5 equal portions with a knife.
- For each portion, roll into a ball, then flatten with a wooden rolling pin to approximately 0.5-1 cm thickness.
7- Prepare to Bake:
- Lightly grease a baking sheet with Carrefour oil spray. Place the flattened buns on it and prick the tops with a fork.
8- Bake the Buns:
- Preheat a standard kitchen oven to a moderate temperature.
- Bake the buns for 15-20 minutes until they turn golden brown. Remove and cool before serving.
