Chef Master 90019 Portable Butane Stove

By: Sprinter Discovery

This review is about the Iwatani brand 35FW model butane stove. It is an expensive piece of equipment, costing about a hundred dollars US, but it is well worth it. It has a double windbreaker, a magnetic locking system for easy connection and safety, a heat panel system which increases fuel efficiency, a solid brass burner, a piezoelectric ignition, and is 15,000 BTU per hour. To insert the butane cartridge, it is very simple compared to other models. It has a magnet in the head and when you push it in, the notch has to go up and match with the notch. To take it off, you simply push.

The piezoelectric igniter gets activated with one click and you can turn it off and go on very low simmer. If you have trouble turning it on, you have to clean the igniter because if it is not clean, you won't be able to start the burner. To fill up a pot with some water, you start it up and the flame is very strong. You can use it for warming up water for washing, making coffee and tea, and it boils very quickly.

Overall, this is an amazing burner and highly recommended. It is well constructed and easy to clean. You can get butane canisters from Walmart, Asian grocery stores, Canadian Tire, or anywhere. It is definitely worth the money and a great piece of equipment for van life.
