Understanding The U.S.A/North Korea Tension

in #war6 years ago

Some say we are very close to the World War III and the main protagonist is North Korea.
Last year they were showing the world their missiles and testing them all the time. They wake up in the morning and have nothing to do so... they test missiles. I guess they don't have Netflix in there =P. By itself, this already could be a problem, but the biggest problem is that they are testing nuclear weapons at the same time. Do you know what a nuclear weapon is? No?

It's This!

North Korea already has a nuclear arsenal, the question is that they are trying to find a way to throw those missiles across the Pacific Ocean.
And who is at the other end of the Pacific Ocean?

Exactly, U.S.A.

Many specialists think that is just a matter of time before they find a way to throw those missiles across the Pacific.
Now pops another question:
Will they have the courage to throw a missile at the U.S?
It's no use to go there and ask KIM JONG-UN if he's gonna throw a missile at U.S.A because North Korea is one of the most isolated countries in the world. North Korea is like the guy that only replies on WhatsApp when he wants.

Why is North Korea like this?

In 1945, after WW II, Korea (Just one country at the time) was divided in two:

  • North Korea - occupied by the Soviet Union;
  • and South Korea - occupied by Americans.

In 1948 each of them created their own government and started to say that they were the true Korea.
In 1950 North Korea invaded South Korea which began the Korean War.

This was the first conflict of the Cold-War because the U.S supported South Korea and the Soviet Union Supported North Korea. This war went for 3 years.
And so North Korea hates South Korea and all of their allies. The Korea war never ended until this day. What happened was a cease-fire between the two countries but peace was never declared between them so technically they're still in a war. That's why the border between those countries is one of the most militarized in the whole world.

In terms of policy, North Korea has stopped in time. In the last 70 years the country was led by members of the same family:

  • KIM IL-SUNG
  • KIM JONG-IL
  • KIM JONG-UN (actual)

North Korea press is totally controlled by the government and the people there treat KIM JONG-UN like a superhero.

Before some of you start to criticize me in North Korea's defense, let me tell you this:

  • On 8th of July (Kim Jong-Un's grandfather death anniversary) , it's totally forbidden to smile and talk loud on the streets. FORBIDDEN! Religion is also forbidden, so don't go there with a Jesus Crist cross on your neck because that's not gonna end well.

ECONOMY
In 2016, North Korea's GDP was smaller than countries like Uganda, Bolivia, and Afghanistan. The country is really far from being a wealthy country. And that's the reason why they hate South Korea. They blame South Korea for not being able to develop themselves and now they are starting to act like those bully kids from school that are really thin and you think: "I can beat the crap out of this guy" but then he's bigger and older brother shows up and you change your thoughts instantly. I'm talking about China of course.

So when could WW III start you ask?

Any moment is the answer. And the worst part is that it could be with a misunderstanding between both leaders. A simply misunderstood tweet from President Trump could be the spark to set this off. Or KIM JONG-UN could think the U.S is gonna strike them and they strike first.

We can only pray for this to not happen because there are innocent lives on both sides.

Indeed we are.. let's hope this won't happen.. because many inocent lives are in the balance if it does..

Yeah. You are right :/

In my opinion most of the wars are ghosts of USA and Soviet Union conflict. We call ourselves evolved and advanced yet we still fight over primitive things. We never understood before and we do not want to understand now that war is not a solution.

@kissofearth That's why it's called Cold-War. =) thank you for your comment.
