Most local people won't buy it. The land that house is built on originally belonged to the house next door. A guy bought it (The original house) and the land but split the land off to build that house on and double his profits trouble was, the reason there was so much land was because it couldn't be built on without a lot of prep work. It's totally water-logged he had to put concrete piles in, which cost £140,000 to support a concrete plinth on which the house is built on and even then, it was a horror story to watch being built. He had to constantly pump out the foundations and to be honest the 'build' was a bit slap-dash in my opinion. I have no idea how he drains the garden, but I know it was a mess the last time I saw it. (It's a really tiny garden.)

People can be so foolish. Sounds like the lot that is for sale very near me that has had all the old huge oak trees cut down only for the guy to find out that there is no spot on his lot that he can build and comply with County regulations because the lot is such an odd shape. He has been trying to sell it for the past 10 years and every 6 months a new realtor sign goes up, and the last I heard he gave it away to a charity that auctioned it off and now some other guy is trying to sell it!
