RE: Ecency waves Apr 19

in #waveslast month

Good morning all

Somewhere from my little corner in Johannesburg.

Even though the city has its conveniences, I miss the fresh clean air of the countryside.

How's the air in your city?

Sort:

Thankfully right now it is good, but some days it can get really bad here (Denver). The issue is because we are right at the foot of huge mountains, so often the wind coming off the mountains pushes the air down and traps it so pollution gets stuck and we call it "the brown cloud." There have been days where we rank worse than the famously polluted cities in China, not because we have that many factories but just because it is stuck (and sometimes because of wildfires).

It's sad that your geo-location puts you in such a predicament. It's like you suffer more for the rest of our sins. Eventually we're all gonna suffer if we don't actively take steps to make the world cleaner.

I hope you're having a great day in Denver nonetheless 😊

Thank you for stopping by!

Pollution does not have a geo boundary...even though it is concentrated in one location and with direct repercussions, in the long run, it makes the entire globe equitable...So it's up to Human civilization to respond with prudence.

Eventually we're all gonna suffer if we don't actively take steps to make the world cleaner.

Right! Pollution is often thought of as a local issue, until the winds shift or there are large fires or something, and then suddenly people who normally have a clean neighborhood are suffering and realize what others have had to put up with for years. I think the lockdown times from the pandemic showed some people really how bad it is, because the air cleaned up in places where it hadn't been so for a long time due to factories being shut down. Hopefully it motivated more people to keep things clean long term.

That's because of the katabatic wind and anabatic wind. Mostly seasonal.

According to the Global Air Quality Index, there is not even 'F' of Fresh air here. I don't know where they get this data from. But the truth is that except in the densely populated centres of some D cities, there is nature and fresh air everywhere.

Thanks for sharing this knowledge.

Every year it seems the air gets less and less breathable. We might start wearing gas masks soon.

Does this mean the value of the countryside will increase at some point in the future, because of the fresh air?

That trend has already started in China. Due to heavy industrialization, the air has gone worse and now in some pockets, people are buying canned air.

Wow. Oxygen will soon become a global commodity, something we used to have for free

Yes, we are heading towards that.

Canned water...then canned air......just think what we have done to the mankind.

There is a famous adage- Everyone's responsibility is no one's responsibility That perfects fits to pollution issue.

It's so sad😢

And the inverse to the adage applies, that we all need to pull up our socks before we witness an apocalypse.

In Africa we say "If people come together they can even mend a crack in the sky". It's time to mend our earth..

I hope people rise to this occasion, realize it, and adopt a circular economy. This problem can only be solved with a bottom up approach.

The value of the countryside has increased since covid. After seeing death so closely, people now want to live their life. I myself have felt this change in people.

True. You've just confirmed where I need to focus my energies going forward. 🙏🏿🙏🏿 Thanks

😊🙏🏼

For the first time, people realized the value of the village, their ancestral place during COVID-19.

The village is sustainable from the get-go. I wish we preserve that ecosystem and do not make the countryside a potential city.

It's Raining over here

There'll be no rain over here for a while, winter closing in.

Where is there, if I may ask?

Delegate some rain.....we desperately need it to get rid of intense heat waves.

Very beautiful!

Ahhh, thanks. This is the building complex I live in.

Here's a view from the balcony

It looks very nice!

Ahh...beautiful, organized....simply wow...

Good Evening ☕🙏, Air quality is not so good in my area but due to living outside city air quality is better than city☺️

Good evening Sir 😊, you're very lucky to be living outside the city. I wish to move away from the city soon.

Let's do all we can do to preserve nature and repair the world. Thank you for stopping by 🙏🏿

Sure sir, due to no space here only planting small plants on the balcony.

But at my Village me and my father planted 100 around Mango trees.

Make sure to make it(planting trees) a generational legacy.

Only at Village possible ☺️

Yes...the best and healthy ecosystem.....

What India needs is smart villages, Smart cities are good but cost-intensive.

I like old style villages, where lack of facilities but having good relationships, faith and a systematic traditional work. Each and every person knows all persons in the Village, even from other villages.

Rest time demands the smart village, as you said above☺️.

Same here. I live in my village, so I have the privilege of inhaling good air with pure oxygen......Humans need to prioritize their living conditions, and the environment thereof before setting any materialistic goal. And that goal must not conflict with the enabling conditions of a healthy life.
