I don't know if 'discouraged' is the word that I'd use, perhaps 'annoyed'. I would always find a way to respond to them, the process just may be a bit slower. πππβ¨π€

Looks like we respond (a bit) differently whenever #HiveEngage is down, even if both of us find difficulty in responding to (old) comment notifications. π€π€― In my case, I literally get discouraged from replying to old comments for the day whenever Hive Engage encounters technical problems (very likely the same with @savvyplayer) !INDEED. π€―π

Indeed, as I will do everything within my power to respond to notifications, regardless of how many there are. I used to use the Ecency website, and the Ecency app to go through them most of the time, but now with how often they both freeze on my phone, I usually do it via Engage and the Ecency website on my laptop. πππβ¨π€

The #Ecency dev team might want to make their apps FOSS, so that other devs can contribute to the code (for free) much like what @savvyplayer said about 2 hours ago, for essential fixes such as addressing the freezing issues like what you experience, and requested features (some of which are already available on #PeakD). π€π€― Ecency already has contributors on their Discover page, so I think that it is a good idea for them to accept code contributors too! ππ

It should be open source, as it would decentralize contributions and bug fixes. Well yes, of course. πππβ¨π€

If I remember correctly, there are some devs on Hive that use other devs' (here or outside Hive) works (that are open-source) and claim them as their own, and those incidents make Hive devs hesitant to make their code FOSS. π€π€―

Oh, I didn't know that, and that's a very sad state of affairs I must say. Ugh. πππβ¨π€

I think that Hive funding proposals whose teams offer to make their codes FOSS (with enough funding) should make 100% of the particular app(s) FOSS (and not just particular sections of their codes), such that other devs who want to host their instances of (and fork) those apps can do so with minimal difficulty. π§ββοΈπ€
