Exploring Ancient City Streets

This is my first #wednesdaywalk post, the tag is brought to you by @tatooedjay and it is my first ever.

It just so happened today that me and the boy ventured into the city and went walking in historic downtown, so it worked out quite well.

I rarely go to the city and usually I prefer people in small doses, if at all. Maybe that's why Steemit is my little hideaway! Luckily today the weather was not so nice and that really kept the people indoors.

Being born and raised in small-town America, I will never lose appreciation for the grandness and historical significance of these European cities. They are the last remaining echo of my forebears.

This fountain has appeared before in my blog, and that is because I am always drawn to it. It stands as a guidepost to center yourself in the city and It allows you to come to a realization that you are existing within only a brief moment in time.

Constructed in 1758 this fountain, as with most buildings in the city, was built 100+ years before this land even became a German State. The Danish Style really defines the city.

Today, November 6th, 2019, my son played and relaxed by this 261-year-old fountain. I was able to witness history right before my eyes. My beautiful boy playing where thousands of young boys and girls have before him. The struggles of all those before me seemed to give my problems a little less meaning.

This “new” German building sticks out like a sore thumb in the old Danish City.

Now we see the old beauties lined up for all to see., withstanding the test of time.

Your eyes aren't deceiving you this building says 1583. Although I seriously doubt that much of the original building remains as it looks more 17-1800s to me.

Monuments to the conquering force of the Christian Church tower over many city corners. The buildings act as literal symbol of the churches stronghold over the European people.

Lastly, a salute to the amazing German police. They are courteous, helpful, and respectful. Most became officers prior to the 2015 crisis and still serve the people in a fair and a humble manner.

Thanks for joining me on my first ever #wednesdaywalk!

Hey @balticbadger, here is a little bit of BEER for you. Enjoy it!

I wanted to say right from the beginning that it looks a lot like Denmark there but then I read about the city being a former Danish one. Enjoy the weather while you can. In here it is raining for about a week and we still have one more.

Finally stopped raining today! Hopefully it holds off for a while. I would love to take a nap too.

I've had enough with naps. I miss my full awake days. Now I nap in the afternoons and wake up at 5 AM after going to sleep at 00 or 01. Then I continue sleeping till 9-10 AM. Don't like that but the weather seems to affect me somehow in this way.

Same here. The weather anyways stacking up on vitamin D
