Several states are going to be deciding on recreational cannabis this month and it could mean that millions more would have access to legal markets in the US. It might only be a matter of time before federal changes are made on a significant level as well, we know there is widespread support for it.
However, in some states that are waiting to see if those changes will be approved there are a few surveys showing that support could be lingering. Though those surveys do have their limitations though, and one investigation or another has on the other hand found widespread support and use of cannabis all around the country, even in those states that are soon to be deciding on it.
Enabling a recreational market is going to permit more freedom for access in those regions to some extent. It wouldn't be as much freedom as some would hope for though because the permitted changes come along with a wide range of restrictions, it doesn't suddenly turn into a free for all once legalization is proposed or implemented.
Majority support across the US for legalization
Some 69% of adults in the US might support legalization of weed, surveys have shown, and this is already a multi-billion market.
It isn't a left or right agenda, though some have more recently started to desperately try to paint it as just that. There are millions of people who vote either way who have accessed cannabis and who have claimed to reap value from this industry in one way or another. By oppressing the freedom of this market it also arguably limits personal liberty and individual freedom of millions.
Although there has been progress on weed reform that doesn't mean that thousands of people still haven't been arrested over victimless crimes in the last decade either. The drug war failure has been well documented and the push for change has been a long time coming, with advocates across the political spectrum pushing for change and for more freedom surrounding this plant.
Now there is the chance that several more states could say they are going to carve their own path out in this industry as well.

What states have Rec on the ballot this year? I need Alabama to pass it before I move back, but oh well, gonna stock up here in Oregon with like a years worth before I go back, lol.
