The Nebraska Supreme Court has decided that putting a vote on medical cannabis on the state's upcoming ballot is unconstitutional. This is after over 180,000 votes were collected to put it on the ballot in the first place. The proposal would had allowed the growing, selling, and consumption of medical cannabis. Many of us are already calling "total bullshit" on this.
Their reasoning was based on Nebraska's "single subject rule" "which bans multiple issues into yes-or-no questions for voters to address". The court said they thought voters should vote on allowing medical marijuana before other issues on the subject. The problem here is that growing, selling, and consuming are all part of medical cannabis as a whole. It is one subject.
