Two Weekend Activities You Won't Want to Miss!

in #weekend2 months ago

The mobile phone has become a major source of entertainment for many people. Lots of folks now depend on their mobile phones for entertainment and to have a good time during their leisure time. These individuals are often addicted to their devices and may feel sad when they become damaged or run out of battery power. Some spend as much as 4-5 hours with their devices. These individuals can stay indoors for weeks or months, provided there is a power supply to charge their devices and an internet connection for browsing, surfing the web, or chatting with friends online.

Interestingly, many people have described themselves as introverts and anti-social, when in reality, they are not. Because their devices are always on hand to keep them company, they may feel less inclined to associate or socialize with others.

Undoubtedly, the world is becoming, or has transformed into, a global village. Nearly every action is conducted online using a mobile phone and an internet connection. The goal in 2024 should be to reduce the amount of time spent on non-productive activities with mobile devices. While these devices offer convenience, fun, and entertainment, these should not be limited to them; there are numerous alternative activities to explore.

If you're tired of being glued to your phone, here are two activities I suggest for a refreshing break and plenty of entertainment:

1. Attending Concerts:

Concerts are live performances where musicians, actors/actresses, comedians, dancers, and other performers entertain their audience by presenting different forms of artistic expression such as music, dance, or even comedy. They are held in various locations such as fields, stadiums, arena halls, and clubs.

Personally, I haven't been to a concert yet, but I have watched some concert videos, and trust me, it looks like fun. It is a good distraction where you can meet and mingle with people of different races, languages, and backgrounds. You get to make new friends, explore, and, most importantly, have fun.

2. Going on Dates: source

I'm not talking about the kind of date where lovers go to eateries, beaches, or restaurants to act all lovey-dovey. I'm talking about the type where a group of friends plans a fun outing to a landmark, park, or gaming center to play and have fun. It doesn't necessarily have to be an eatery or restaurant; there are various nice places to have fun, and the goal is to discover and explore them with friends and family.

Friends can plan a rainbow picnic where each person dresses up in a particular color and brings snacks of the same color, go hiking or biking together, have an outdoor barbecue, or even go swimming together.

In summary, while the mobile phone provides convenience and entertainment, it is also important to know that there are various other alternatives to socialize and have fun. Taking a break from screens and having real-life connections with friends can boost our relationship with them, bring joy, fulfillment, and genuine human interaction.

it's the weekend already! I hope you're not planning to be a couch potato with your phone. Get up, dress up, and hang out. You'll be glad you did.
