Michael sat down in the middle of the road and began to cry. Just five minutes ago he was bouncing around the room on a barrel chair while howling like a wolf. Now this. The hooch we made with the grain alcohol had him fueled and ready!
For his first time drinking I thought he was handling himself quite well. Sure he was blubbering like a baby while everyone from the party watched but hey! Let them walk a mile in his shoes.
I could understand how he might have this kind of breakdown. His Dad had been beating him since he was little. And I don’t mean a run of the mill whippin, no I’m talking about serious stuff. He snuck out of the house to let off a little steam and boy did he!
I thought I would go over and help him out of the road and try to cheer him up. As I got closer I realized there was something odd about his crying. He was laughing too! He stood up and I could see he was wiping away tears of joy. He just looked at me with a goofy smile and said “Thanks for getting me out tonight, this is the best time I have had in my entire miserable life”.
