The Book of Proverbs expresses with wisdom to men in one sentence what is contrary to the natural order of things: "He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous are both alike an abomination to the LORD" Proverbs 17:15.
In the universe beyond the apparent chaos there is an order, and the sapiential books, such as the Book of Proverbs, seek to show this order. And the Book of Proverbs shows this order through what God approves or does not approve. In the Bible, this hidden order receives a very simple name, the God's plan for creation, a plan that began with the original sin of Adam and Eve, and that for Christians ends with the day of final judgment and the establishment of the heavenly Jerusalem.
In the Bible, God is the perfection to the highest degree and for this reason, God does not coexist with falsehood, sin, or evil. As the phrase that the Book of Proverbs teaches, punishing a righteous man or justifying perversion are things that go against the laws created by God, ethical or spiritual laws that support this divine and perfect order, and one of these laws is, for example, the law of sowing and reaping: "For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind." Hosea 8:7, "Do not sow in the furrows of injustice, lest you harvest it sevenfold" Ben Sira 7:3.
But these things, the persecution of the righteous people for example, are things that can happen when human society is perverted, law and justice are annulled, and everything falls under the weight of oppression. The Bible teaches men that this corrupt state of things increases suffering and tends to destroy every vestige of human happiness.
The beatitude and the common sense that comes from the fear of God show that these things, that is, suffering and oppression, must be avoided and rejected without hatred, that is, abhorred; God is wise and calls man to live according to his plan.
